<<<<Hope you all had a great St Patrick's Day yesterday, and before you heathens start having a go read this from Wiki, so it must be right...
| Quote: |
: L le Pdraig or L Fhile Pdraig), colloquially St. Paddy's Day or Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17.
The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland, and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Montserrat, and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the rest of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.
It became a feast day in the Roman Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding[1] in the early part of the 17th century, and is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland. The date of the feast is occasionally moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patrick's Day was observed on 3 April in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and is happening again in 2008, being observed on 15 March (though the State holiday in Ireland is not affected).[2] March 17 will not fall during Holy Week again until 2160.[3] |

[Edited to say] I could get the URL tag to work, hence the quote. |

My son had great difficulty persuading the folk at his work that St Patricks Day was yesterday.
Mind you they dont believe his explanation about Easter being so early either
Wonder how Ima's date with Tsnerd went. |

You'll never catch me posting in there. Far too cliquey!
My one consolation is that Guinness is on offer at 1.99 ($4.00) a pint in my local at the moment. |

Happy St.Patrick's Day to everyone, for yesterday and tomorrow.
Tommo: All are welcome at the PWT. I, for one, would love to see your wit and humor over there.
Meet Nanny and I at the PWT later for some of her famous scones.
PS. Our date was very pleasant. See the PWT for more information. |

Tomorrow will be even betterer*- my connections assure me that the polar bears are out in force, plus the dump I'm taking you to is well known for its vermin.
Tommo, I too would enjoy seeing you over in the PWT.
*Yes, that was intentional. |

I think I'll wait 152 years and see how this all comes out before deciding when to celebrate this year.
As my mother always said: "do your research, Kleindoofy." |

I'm celebrating St Paddy's Day today so ..........................................Happy St Paddy's Day everyone.
And here is a photo of Slemish mountain, Co Antrim, NI where St Patrick minded the sheep (taken from my back door [well almost]).
