419 Letter by Post

I just wanted to share this, got back from work today to find I'd been sent a 419 by post, I haven't seen one of these in years. The lad claims to be from Hong Kong but the postmark is London, needless to say I won't be baiting this lad. Scan of the letter for your viewing pleasure Laughing

Odd the next line says he is taking a great risk by mailing you.

As pointed out by a mate of mine who was sat next to me when i opened this thread and laughed at a postal scam letter.

If you get any more, dont open them

Mail is traceable, and more vital clues may be in the saliva they use to lick the stamp/seal the envelope.

Ive no experience at all with postal fraud, but if the way its sent is manual theres a great chance of arrest Smile

Sorry, D-1, but it just doesn't work like that. A snail mail is what brought me here. Before I started googling, I called the Secret Service to see if they could do anything with the mail, being a good citizen and all; They wouldn't- I wasn't a victim, no money has been stolen, and no crime had been committed.

The nice young lady I spoke with agreed with me that I should keep the letter and hang it on my wall of shame, though. Laughing

They probably got my address from the phonebook, I don't have a common surname so it wasn't a lucky guess. I didn't keep the stamp/envelope, no point. It was just a standard UK second class stamp.
