I recently saw 2 adds on craigs list where the lads were offering plasma TV's for about 1/3 their market price. One was an obvious 419. The Lad claimed he was local, but unavaliable. The TV was in Hawii, but he wanted me to WU payment to his nephew in Nigeria. Since I wasn't looking for 419 and originally replied with my real email, I wasn't able to do anything more then pretend I was too stupid to use Western Union. The second one was a little different. They wanted me to send payment through TNT Express, some kind of delivery service I'd never heard of. Anyone ever seen this in a scam before?
Question Here the site

The lads were on Craig's list about 26,4 seconds after it was launched.

The lads infest everything on the net that will work for them.

Sniper,

CL and E-bay are both full of scammers. There's an abundance of baiting opportunities with both of them.

I hope you join us and give them hell.

Welcome to the eater.

So far I've sent 9 different baits, and have 2 more in my inbox I haven't replied to yet. After seeing the replies about success baiting the CL scammers I chummed the water on one of them as well. I've thrown out a range of characters, and I'm kind of interested in what works, and what doesn't. I did get my first return response about an hour ago. Hopefully it will turn into something fun!

I bait CL whenever they respond to my (legit) ads, or I see an obvious scammer posting. I like watching checks travel the country via UPS going to non existent addresses. Sort of like watching a check safari.

I'm actually still watching one which was sent to "me" on 10/3, and *just* finally got picked up by "GOV'T OR OTHER AGENCY".

Well, I can only hope that "Goverment or other agency" means the Postal Inspectors Very Happy

Craigslist has that advisory telling people not to send money using Money Orders, but that doesn't seem to save many victims. My sister sends me at least one solicitation for every item she posts on CL, so they're not slowing down a bit.

Still, the scammers can be forced to re-mail the check a couple times and when I'm lucky will try to pick up their wire transfer. But many are Vlads with very little patience for my shenanigans.
