Who was it that set up this webby-sitey? I would post a link but I've had three Trojans given to me over the past coupla days every time I've went near it. I'm not saying it's the makers fault, I'm just curious as to why it keeps happening with that particular site!

Edit - If any clever bods know what it is my AV is coming up with;
Trojan Horse Downloader.Generic5.TXX and it has only appeared as a threat warning from NSS. Yes I did go back three times, I'm a sucker for punishment!

I have never received any notice of a virus or malware from that site. I do get a pop up blocked but nothing else besides that.

The words "false positive" spring to my mind if the threat is named "Downloader.Generic5", no one else seems to have a problem and no specific information is found via Google. Do you use AVG by any chance?

@Don - Errrm, yes! *B-S looks over his shoulder feeling spooked*. Does AVG have a habit of this? It's the only time it's ever picked anything up and that's only been at NSS. I've been to the site before with no probs, just when I went back to read it for a little "project" on Monday AVG went mucking fental. I healed that and went back thinking it was nowt to do with NSS. It happened again, I healed again, then I went back one more time just because it was a bit of excitement in an otherwise dull day Rolling Eyes

AVG sucks....

any free antivirus software, given by a company that has a non-free version too, has to be "not so good".

go to www.pandasoftware.com and do a "free Online Scan".

Then get their Anti-Virus. You'll be trouble free.

I agree with don, false positive - i hate when that happens.

I was working on one program myself and called a class Server,
this made my own AV go crazy - so i simply changed it to StreamServer and all was well.

It does not happen too often thankfully, microsoft has had a few false positives from some major brands - bet there was a few red faces that week in the AV department.

But safety first! Treat all alerts as very real, most AV update every week at most, and that gives you time to see if its false or real, real viruses normally set off at least 3 scanners unless there all using the same db for the virii data then your kinda screwed.
