Here I am a willing victim happy to accept the lad's $45m that he's obtained through some nefarious means and he doesn't seem to want to continue. Maybe my emails written in large pink letters has damaged his equilibrium or maybe he has a problem with young women.

Should I write back to him and admit that I'm too young to accept this awesome responsibility and thank him for being so considerate. Or should give him a gentle slap and tell him that in my family $45m is little more than petty cash.

What is the scam?

If it is going to be a fake check scam, that may be what is causing him to twig.

If you want to reassure him, bring your 'mom' or 'dad' into the bait.

Not a fake cheque scam. The lad has $45m from his late father and to prevent his greedy relatives from stealing it he want to transfer it to my country. When this is achieved he'll immigrate and we'll split the money $20m for me and $25m for him.

All I have to do is to pay the necessary bribes via Western Union and then hold the money until he gets to join me.

I've seen this happen a few times before. Lads don't like people under the age of 18 as they automatically assume that the victim is not going to have the funds to rip off.
I also reckon that lads believe that they're more likely to be messed about by younger vics so they steer clear of them.

If you want to carry this one off, I reckon your best bet it to go for being the rich, dopey debutante type. A young Paris Hilton immediately springs to mind.

Picky lad... He dumps you because he thinks that your character cannot legally open bank accounts and credit cards. Being a teenager, you must be poor in his eyes. There is also a very good chance that he thinks you are joking with him like a kid.

Thanks for the suggestions - lets see what develops. I'm starting to enjoy being a 17 year old girl, I've got another lad sending me reasonable quality (but scary) beefcake.

It doesn't look to me like you've been dumped at all. The mugus will quite often ask you various sorts of questions at the beginning to establish whether you are serious or not. Baiting as a young character is quite fine, better even as you can bring family members in as the story develops (stealing parents' money, getting caught, etc). Or as TS suggested, involving your "parents" directly.
