About a few weeks ago, Agilent Technologies flew me out from my home to Wilmington DE (actually, to Philadelphia via Dallas Ft Worth and I picked up the rental car from PHL and drove the remaining 25 miles south to Wilmington). They paid for airfare, car rental, and a two-night stay in a really swank Hilton hotel!
They do reimburse recruits for all expenses incurred on all trips. In my case, I spent US$75.02 altogether. I submitted an expense report to their travel desk in Colorado on Wednesday and this arrived at my dad's house this morning:

Sending traveler's checks overnight by FedEx: Was it the scammers or Agilent who though of this modality first??!! |

since traveler's checks are not supposed to be cashed unless the place cashing them see's the second signature being written (and of course it has to match the original signature that was written at time of purchase of traveler's check)...
Sending traveler's check that is already endorsed is no safer than sending cash.
Makes me question just how much sense this company has. |

Did they ask you to send the $4.98 that they over paid you back to them by WU? |

Sadly, NO!
But if they do, I can always tell them that I used it for demmurage.
An interesting note: back in 2001 when I still had a checking account with Citibank in the U.S., I was given the chance to order personal cheques with a design that has "citi" logo in light blue on the check and that has a holographic symbol embedded in the paper (much like the amex cheque above). Never mind that each personal check was like 3x the cost of it's non-holographic brother, it was the best convo starter at any grocery store or any sales outlet!!! |
