A friend of mine sent an email telling about a great deal she just found out. I went to the website and noticed that it is a pyramidal scam. They say it is not, and they use as an argument the fact that the internet prevents that someone give up.
They began last month, so I couldn't find anything about them. I don't see any information about them, but if someone could find out the whois information I would be glad.
The website is chavedourada dot com dot br
I don't know what to say to my friend. She now knows that it is illegal and is very afraid, but I don't see how she can get out of this thing. She is not losing money, and maybe she will gain some more, because her name is in the list.
What can I do? What do you do about this kind of scam? I don't think we can bait them.

The site layout & graphics do make it look fairly like a pyramid scam. Unfortunately, I don't speak Portuguese, so I couldn't understand what's going on.
Generally for pyramid & mlm schemes of all sorts, it's a simple question of math. if you can do the math for her, it's easy to show that there is no such thing as a neverending number of people joining these schemes that would be required to keep them running... |

I made a search for the whois and found out that the responsible for the site is a person in my circle of friends. I don't know him, but I have some friends who know him.
I think he is into this thing but he thinks there's nothing wrong with that. I found his fotolog and he talks about this thing openly.
I won't do anything. I will keep trying to keep my friend out of it, though. |

Post this pyramid scam at the MMF Hall of Humiliation. www.mmfhoh.org - submit a forum post or just tell the site about it. I'm sure they (tint) will be glad to humiliate them nicely  |
