Nothing to me. I think we broke him.

I believe he thinks Sister is still real and I could keep poking him, but I don't think it will lead anywhere. So she'll respond in kind if he emails again, but I think I'm going to move on!

It's been fun, but Sister Mary's orphans need more readers! And thine thirst for quality tomes hath not yet been satiated.

I can't drink alcohol for a few reasons, so I will gladly join in with a ginger beer or root beer. If you do direct him here, tell him as Feathers how the Snorky Boys planned all of this to steal his package. My current project, which I may have results for by next week, is to have a lad make empanadas for me. I've also joined Scamwarners to experience another side of the scamming world. This has been a great bait, and someday I would love to work together on another one. It's actually kind of interesting: this was Lake's first bait, and this was my first major bait. Over half of my posts are in this thread. If any new baiter ever doubts that new baiters can do great things, they need only to look here.

I agree. He's still emailing Susan, but he has no heart in it and is only doing it on the chance that the package might be real. But he doesn't believe anymore.

Does he have any idea what really happened to him? He got hit from so many directions, sometimes all at once, his head must be spinning. He may have withdrawn from contact but does he know this was a coordinated effort? Does he think he just had multiple back luck instances? He knows enough that you guys mean trouble to him, but has he figured out how well he was played? Could he believe it even if you told him?

^ That is one of the key things to take away from this bait. He has absolutely no idea who was in on this. I'm hoping that he'll stop mailing some innocent victims as well, thinking they might be part of this.

I think he is going to be a little gun shy for a while. And I can only imagine how his fellow scammer friends are going to react to his woes.

Sister Mary may stay in touch, just to keep him in check. Her quest for a new reader continues...

If I had to guess, he may have switched email accounts to avoid harassment. At some point Jayhawk you mentioned that Penfold was getting spam emails from him. It would be interesting to find those, if you are still getting any, to distribute them for our amusement. Considering how Penfold should only be receiving spam from him, we could see if he will enable us to track him.

Hey, it was fun while it lasted. I do think he was telling the truth about losing his job though. I think his Oga told him to take a hike. Thanks to Lake for letting me play and to everyone else who either contributed or simply followed along at home. Feathers is always available should the need rise again😁

As somebody who joined in about halfway through the bait, I concur. It was definitely great fun while it lasted. To further continue my baiting education, I signed up for the mentor program. I'm almost always around if needed, and if I need Feathers to help me, I will gladly let you know. I am sure that right now, Mr. Humphere is wandering around Lagos complaining about all of those filthy people from Beaver Island to anyone who will listen. Who knows when the next big bait will be? Will we work together again? Who knows?

I have been reading this at work over the past two weeks (I work in IT and my company is transitioning so I've had nothing but time) and I have to say this was by far one of the most entertaining and enthralling baits I've ever seen. I almost felt like the fantasy world was real. Amazing job all parties involved and thank you for some amazing reading. Sad it is over.

Fun. If it's him, it could be interesting to respond in character as Penfold or whoever received the email. I would think that he would automatically distrust you, but if he believes enough to send emails to you, it would be interesting to see what happens. Even if he doesn't respond to you, it will only reinforce that you are real. I would love to get back to baiting Mr. Humphere if it's really him. I would have to probably make a new email address, but that is a small price to pay.
