I liked it, the camera work was great the kids would have had a ball making it. Instead of baning it and punishing the kids they should be given top marks for a great piece of work. Very Happy

Okay, Im a bit confused. You all seem to hate chavs. Do chavs verbally attack everyone expect fellow chavs? Or who is it that chavs are against is what I mean.

Where I come from I could easily walk down the worst part of East LA or the best part of Beverly Hills and not be bothered. It seems like I have the better deal this time.

I liked this line from the Wikipedia article linked above...
Quote:
In modern Spanish "chaval" means "lad".

So, we can address our pets accordingly! Very Happy

Alternatively, from the Dictionary of Scots (the language, not the people):

CHAVIE, also chavvie. Add to defin.: also as a term of address to a boy or young man.
Add quots.:
*Sc. 2004 http://scottishpool.com 15 Jul :
A chavie is like a geeser Tiger.
I thought it was an east coast/Aberdeen type of saying.
Not offensive in any way.
*Sc. 2004 Scotsman 20 Oct 24:
Now, the Diary was never a "ned" but was address ed as a "chav" or "chavvie" as a youth by Leith or Pilton compatriots. ... Peter pointed out that what natives of East Lothian and Leith had in common with Delhi and Ahmadabad was not only a Ruby Murray on a Saturday night, but a shared language.
Kerr traced a lineage from the Khyber Pass to Leith Walk, through the gypsies who left northern India a thousand years ago, decamping five centuries later in East Lothian.
"The old Nungate quarter of Haddington became their northern outpost," Pete told us and recalled getting the tawse for using tinker slang, such as chavvi (a child), mortie (a girl), chore (to steal) and scran (food).

Ok, a little limey slang lesson later, seems that "chav" roughly translates to "tweener", though there are plenty of U.S. pop icons for which "tweener" is not an accurate description but "chav" would be. The black culture has its own word for it either way: "irritating". Definitely an element of any society that deserves an early and violent extinction. If you're white, be white, be lame and be proud. Did I mention I burn hip-hop albums as a public service and a sanitation measure? Hard rock is so much more suitable to mold young kids than that mind-rotting sugar pop.

I'd never heard of the word 'Chav' till I went back to the UK this time, So I have no idea of it's origin or true meaning. It does however somehow cungere up (in my sad old mind anyway) a picture of a scruffy teenager who's a bully.

I think it's quite a funny story and one that should be taken in the same context as Monty Pythons 'Upper class twit of the year' sketch.

Ah yes the good old un-co, emo and another one you might have heard of "Gimp" meaning retarded or doing something stupid, gronk=stupid. And weirdly a lot of pig latin, adlay, eshhay (which doesn't make sense in pig latin)
