OK, I'm going to try my hand here posting the first of my baits. This is one of two I have going right now, and I think I may be able to get a trophy soon! *fingers crossed*

So here is the set up:
Scammer: Suk!y@ (Henceforth referred to as Sookie)
Victim: Benjamin Wright Dover - a 75 year old war vet living in a nursing home.

OK, so she's asking for a video chat, phone number, and laying the ground work to ask me for money- saying she needs to be with me before the transfer. She also wants to know about my religion- too bad Ben is an atheist...

Following the 24 hours rule advice of my mentor, TLH, I reply the next day, ignoring the phone issue for now:

I will see where it goes from here, but I hope to get a photo trophy. I will try to steer her to letting me send the money via bank transfer and get a piece of pork too!

That way, when you make a "mistake" and she whines about it, you can tell her that you were charitable enough to overlook her blunders, and she should do the same.

Does this count as a trophy? I know the face is photo shopped on the body (and not horribly done BTW), but the sign looks genuine! She also didn't follow the exact instructions. She was to also state, "I will." But I think that it will suffice.

As for her payment, too bad she didn't tell me how to send the money! That is not enough of an address! And no direction for MG/WU!!

I love the way your scammer trimmed the donor hair. If it were not for the difference in the size of the face, the skin tone between the hands and the neckline, the crop on the curls, the age and build differences I would have been completely fooled by the PhotoShop.

At this point your scammer has a fair amount of effort invested in you and is now ready for forms and other time wasting activities. Try to dangle much more cash by telling "her" that you don't think you will make it very much longer and need to get married as soon as possible. Offer money for plane tickets, cameras, laptops, cell phones and watches.

The e-mail is going to be a generic for the nursing home Benja is at, and the lad will be directed to use the nurse's name as the subject line to ensure the e-mail auto filter places the e-mail in the correct folder so Ima can read it.

I have been on vacation in real life this week and haven't paid as much attention to my lad as I could have, but she still seems to be on the hook.

I didn't respond to her e-mail on 7/2 so on 7/4/15 Benja had this in his in box:

My nurse returned to the nursing home today to say that she attempted to go to the Western Union to send the money as requested and found that the Western Union had been burned during the riots in Baltimore this spring. I do not know what to do. A notice on the door said they would rebuild, but that will take several months!

In hindsight, I realized a mistake, over the weekend I mentioned that the nurse went to WU and they were closed, She should have noticed THEN the place was burnt down... I think I can reconcile this though...

I feel like she is firmly on the hook! She thinks the nurse just doesn't want to send the money. I'm not sure if the nurse should start e-mailing Sookie yet or not. I will try to find proof of a WU being burned in Baltimore this spring. I think enough of the city was looted that I can find a good shot to at least photochop!

Any thoughts on the nurses name? I am torn between Ima Sh@rter or Nurse Ratchett...

ETA: A quick google search I brought up this picture from the Baltimore Riots:

Using Nurse Diesel to chop the payment could be fun. The nurse would insist that the payment was made but be unable to produce a receipt for several reasons. Or you could scrounge up an official-looking fake receipt to send to your lad. The resulting confusion and stress to Ben could be stretched over several exchanges. Very Happy

Well, I have decided to take Thursten's advice, but I am going to take my time working up to it. I have given the nurse a name: Ose "Can you see". Maiden name Ose Chukwu. A fairly common name in Nigeria I believe. She married an American man whom she met via e-mail. It will eventually come about that Ose used to run these scams and actually fell in love with someone she was trying to scam and went legit and moved to the US to become a nurse. Well, she ALMOST went legit anyway. She is going to recognize what is going on here and chop that dolla!

In the meantime, Ben has tried to assuage Sookie's fears of jealousy! I even provided the picture from the above looting, albeit a MUCH larger image that I won't post here for size reasons!

You can see the hooligans that broke the windows to destroy the business. The poor man that ran the business barely escaped with his life!

So I ask you this. With the Western Union being closed here, how can I send you the money? I sincerely want to help you in your plight!

Well, I am officially one month into my second bait. 1/12 of the way to a sand timer! (I don't expect this one to last that long, but it won't stop me from trying!) My first was a loan lad that twigged fairly early on...

I'm trying to get her to either suggest MG or bank transfer but she isn't budging from WU yet.

ETA:
I looked over her previous e-mails. She did say to have the nurse go to any other WU or MG, but I think she should specifically mention MG...
