It might need some documentary back up, to prove to the lad what flights are being used, you could pose as a travel agent who happened to see a piece of paper left on the counter which was a copy of an e-mail from the Sheriff, and they, being a law abiding citizen, thought they ought to do the right thing.

It somehow appears to me that 'Harry Br0wn' [no doubt the Seargent too] did indeed screw up. I don't know what you replied to him, but you obviously mentioned London...

He's now got 'the cia' after you too which proves he is also 'Sheriff/Seargent of Laddingham'.. He tipped his hat--I love hats--because a lawyer could never get 'the cia' to do his bidding. Then again, neither could any low-level Canadian cop either. Lad threats of this magnitude are always comical. It means you pissed them off.

You're thinking safari to Togo or thereabouts, or something like that. My advice is to still keep thinking 'Canada'. Your main lad says he is there--in Ontario---but where does Harry B say he is? And what is "HARRIS ART"??

Hey Jervis,

All along the art dealer's been maintaining that he's in London, which he now says is 20,000 miles in size. He tripped up when I said something to the effect that "I sent the money to London, it's not like you have to travel 5000 miles to get to it" to which he said he would have to travel that distance. So yes, he slipped up.

Overnight he now wants a WU payment, but there was nothing from the sheriff. So, my baiting character is still in fugitive flight, until the sheriff is called off.

I think that's when my baiting character will be undercut by his scheming nephew who will want the reward money.

I don't think a safari to Canada or within Canada will happen. The sheriff's IP goes back to Abuja. That's why I'm thinking a safari to Togo just might be possible.

You would think that after a 60+ day check bait, that these guys would get the idea that they're not going to get the money. But they keep coming back, and as long as they keep coming back, I'll keep baiting them.

Just a Jervis tip-o-the-hat here--I've often found that Lads who situate their bait location in Canada want you to transfer cash via the Royal Bank of Canada...A REAL legit bank, but The Lads have come up with their own website for it---still active to this very minute.

What they try to impress you with is http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/caribbean/ which of course is all about shady Caribbean banking/money laundering.. The Lads have scam contacts in various Carib locales, notably The Cayman Islands. Note also they link to Montserrat--is anyone still doing banking there after the volcanoes?

Have you tried reporting that site to aa419? They might put it on LadVampire and such to try to knock it down with their bandwidth hogging.

@Jervis: since the IPs trace to Nigeria, I'm trying to engineer a safari to Togo. I'm not sure that it'll work but I figured it was worth a try. My character's nephew is in contact with the Sheriff, trying to set up an "arrest" in Togo.

I'm not sure they'll buy it; the Sheriff wanted the nephew to give his USA address so that the Sheriff could meet him there and then they'd go to Togo together. The nephew wrote back to say he's not going to Togo.

I may have to have the nephew slap the Sheriff. It isn't the nephew's job to arrest criminals.

I've run across a lad who had a Chi-town connection, and they can connect occasionally in Los Angeles--and my hometown NYC. But true lad-central is Houston Texas.---Harris County has like 75% of all the net scams alone in the Lone Star state-pop. 24million and then some.. And while Nigerians make up just 1% of the Houston metro population, [5.5million] 90% of all Internet fraud cases in all of Texas originate there by them.. These figures if off are only slightly so either way....In other words, as usual the bad ones give the good ones a bad rep.

^^^ We'll see where it goes. If the safari doesn't come thru, then maybe something else can be milked out of this. These guys just won't let go.
