519's in Ontario, around Windsor. A lot of check lads operate from that province, mainly from Toronto metro...... though I've seen cell numbers from Manitoba and Nova Scotia before....and Montreal, come to think of it.

@SP Fido always comes up as a "landline" on the numbering plans site, but a bit of online research a few months ago informed me that Fido is mostly a prepaid cell phone provider.

When I see Fido + Canadian number, I think Prepaid Cell. They do some landlines, I think, but don't have a large customer base there. Their thing is mostly wireless plans. Or that was how it all shook out then. Maybe they've Borged the market since.

Cheers for that, Mrsbean, I was surprised when it said it was landline, you are probably right about it being mostly a cell phone providor, I shall remember the Fido name for future reference.

I often use www.reversephonedirectory.com and switchboard.com when looking up phone #s in North America and The Caribbean.--

Note on that/this--the lads have oft used the Royal Bank Of Canada with me as a 'wire-the-dough' point--which traces to The Cayman Islands, a Carib tropical paradise also notorious for illegal money laundering. There are bank officials there in cahoots with the lads.!!

They also double-scam you [or try to] in providing you with a phone #--usually 809 area code--but not limited to that--in which the clock starts running at $50 per minute/fraction-thereof from the second the connection goes thru. Unfortunately most people--many not even involved in a 419-- pay rather than fight the Bell Family, and a piece of that action gets passed on down to a lad eventually, even if he never set foot on a sandy Carib shore.
