It's more to do with Lads finding that the script they bought (or whatever) doesn't cover what they need to answer a victim.
"Mr Emmanuel John" expected an answer that would merit the details of the diplomat, but had nothing for the question Mal asked.
It's unusual for a Lad to be caught short so early, but that's how it was. |
