Neither of the lad's characters has responded to Roger's pokes. Roger tells Mrs Almas that her friend the Barrister is an idiot:

Now, are you going to come back and claim your package, or should I designate it as an unclaimed shipment?

It is only fair for all of his troubles through this difficult ordeal. I am glad that it seems to be nearly over!
