Lads becoming more adverse to bank transfers?

I've been noticing that lads are becoming more and more sensitive to victim's requesting bank transfers. When MG/WU becomes unavailable and my character wants the lad to provide a bank account he either immedietely drops me or sends me something like this

Anyone else notice this trend?

Have not experienced that yet.
But just today I was given a bank account (reported) at Wells Fargo
The lad is insisting on a cash deposit has given me no ABA routing number and says wire transfer is not authorized.

Many time the response depends on the amount of money involved.

And sometimes lads state that amount is too small for using a bank account:

You can always tell the lad that family members have contacted WU and MG and blocked you because of previous scams.

Then tell him. It is ok because you got a better offer and forward him a fake email.

Let the real lad and fake lad battle it out.

The protests over bank transfers have been around since I've been here, TSH. As others have said, make the payment involved large enough to warrant the transfer.

The amount involved is why I can't stand the "hit 'em quick" lads that want $49 USD. Although they can be baited with success.

I have run into it on the smaller transactions. Lately I've been telling them that I get 2 free transfers a month at my bank, so I'm not going to pay for WU when I can get it for free at the bank. Since I'm going to the bank today, let's finish this business up........

Get all your WU/MG excuses together in advance and you won't need to request a bank transfer. The lad will offer it.

When I first started baiting the lads had to pay for internet access at a Cafe and it was a lot easier. I find that 90% of lads now have smart phones, google everything and are more suspicious. I am in the middle of a bait and did my usual "Credit Card declined. Code 203 Over limit" and the lad insisted that he had room on the card, told me to send the declined receipt and started calling my burner phone, googling my "winery" and asking why I used a cell phone for contact information etc.

He's greedy so I was able to get him looped back in but suffice to say some are being more careful. The approach I took to this one was to play dumb and say that I very much would like his business and that I'm happy to try the card again. He agreed and the "card went through" and has now sent me a bank piggie to transfer to his shipping company. A couple accounts reported. Not sure I will get a bunch of piggies from this skeptical lad but if you hang in there you will usually break them. SO GREEDY.

Been baiting for a few years now and never messed with WU or MG. Most of my 'victims' are in the UK and quite rich so naturally they have a bank account. Also they don't understand what all this WU/MG nonsense is about ('Isn't that just for tourists or immigrants' etc) Then you get they only want $40 and their bank will not accept such a low fee - this is b*ll*cks and I let them know all proper registered banks can accept any amount on direct transfer. This is normally after a couple of weeks baiting them, sometimes they will cough up a bank account or more, or just moan a bit and disappear. I do not care as they have wasted time and effort on my character. Basically -no bank account, no deal. That is the way I roll. Amazes me how the lads target rich westerners and expect them to scuttle off to money transfer offices. Other baiters do things differently and this is what I like as these lads are getting screwed from all directions Wink

I agree totally EL, and for good measure I like to point out why would any right thinking person use the type of company that has recently been fined $586m in the US courts for not keeping a check on money laundering and wire fraud.

One of my first baits, I got a piggy very quickly, right after the usual exchange of personal details (3rd or 4th email each way, I think). The lad didn't even ask for WU/MG, just gave me a piggy and told me to pay in to that. My other lads ask for WU/MG at first, but so far all of them have coughed up a piggy or two after I've done my usual 'How exactly does this WU thingy work? Please walk me through EVERY step of the way, some steps several times over ... ' bumbling incompetence.

ETA: Another method I use (especially effective with lads whose format involves the payment of 'delivery fees') is to demand they send me a link to the delivery company's website. If/when they do, I ask, "Where's the page for me to put my credit card details in?" If they can't/won't send me a website link, after some slaps for making me use a delivery company which doesn't even have a website ("What kind of fly-by-night amateurs don't have a website?!") I'll ask, "So how can I pay by credit card then?" After all, what kind of dodgy delivery company doesn't accept payment by credit card in this day and age?

I will baulk all the more when WU/MG is mentioned; only scammers, money launderers and terrorists use them! Because I started with expecting to be able to pay by credit card, that way a bank-to-bank transfer looks more like a 'compromise' between my preferred method of payment (credit card) and the lad's (WU/MG). The fact that bank transfer is a kind of compromise rather than something my character is demanding to begin with seems to make the lads more willing to send me their bank details.
