Every so often lads find themselves posted at SW and try and claim their innocence. "" was one such lad, who claims to be a Turkish entrepreneur and was advertising on LinkedIn that he has about $8.5 billion of gold for sale. After being given the customary warm welcome at SW, a bit of investigation revealed that as well as gold scams, he has a sideline in claiming to arrange Turkish residency for people. With the uncertainty of Brexit, where better for someone to look for a second nationality than Turkey, particularly if you're a married gay celebrity couple (homosexuality is legal in Turkey, but same sex marriages are not recognised).

Enter é personal advisor to "Reg and Dave" a happily married couple with a request for residency for "his high profile client and spouse". After a bit of to and 'fro, terms were agreed and it was time to reveal the names of the clients. The lad happily proclaimed himself a fan of Reg's music.

After the lad provided a bank account, it was time to drop a dual bombshell on him. Firstly, contact had been made with the Turkish consulate in order to facilitate the official translation of birth and marriage certificates etc. and they had highlighted the lack of recognition of the marriage certificate. Secondly and more importantly, Reg's lawyer had been performing due diligence and had found the SW thread and was advising him not to proceed.

The lad has since been wound up further with tales of emails and calls to the real company (who's URL and phone numbers he dumbly included in his signature) to try and verify his legitimacy.

Over the last 24 hours, the lad has send around 30 emails with desperate attempts to prove he is real, finishing with 3 pictues (of someone who bears a vague resemblance to the real person).

The lad has lost €85k, but at least he still has his love of Reg's music and can remain a Tiny Dancer

apparently, a turkish lad, something new Very Happy

and by the wording, you are his only "victim", and he can't walk away from it.

where is he located? if he would do anything, maybe a safari? (and there are other things possible aswell, he is in turkey... a place where some accusations alone can meand long time jail sentences.

The location of the IP he signed up at SW with was in Turkey and coincidentally very near to the location of the bank account that he provided. So the lad is located somewhere about 200KM SE of Ankara.

The guy in the photos is most likely a random person he has persuaded to post for him as he looks similar to the real person that the scammer is impersonating. There's little prospect of the lad travelling as he won't agree to meet as he probably looks nothing like who he claims to be and as I have no proof the guy in the photos is involved, I won't be trying to safarii him.

My initial aim was just to get a bank account off of him and giving him the pleasure of knowing that being listed at SW cost him money. I'm looking forward to some nice rants when he sees the bank account posted along with a few other new email addresses (that I need to check out first) that he claims were business partners.
