I have been talking with Azim on-and-off for at least a year now, mixed with long breaks of a month or more of silence just to annoy him. He has offered me a great deal on $179k worth of gold.
Of course, there have been troubles. Dan's was scammed by another lad, Mr. Obi, for $12k in the process. His Pastor was also scammed by this scoundrel. And sadly, Dan's lovely wife Betty passed away a few months back.
Dan is finally prepared to do the deal, in cash, via a trusted courier service. Of course Azim would like an upfront fee send by WU.
| Quote: |
Hello Dan,
Good day and nice reading back from you, just spoke with the local miners about your order and payment confirmation.
Now to proceed i will like you to remit the 14,500$ for shipping and other charges via western union since its easier and faster to confirm payments, so i get to settle all custom duties and tax while awaiting delivery and i am going to be forwarding to you an invoice of the good ( 165,000$).
I am waiting upon the confirmation of our accountant in charge of petty cash transaction western union Information for the 14.00 which you are going to be paying in 3 installment that is 5000$ , 5000$, and 4500$. so i get to settle some local miners and customs, then forawrd to you the invoice for the 6 kg at 165.0004 making a total of $179500.
Will send you western union information in my subsequent email.
Regards
Once more sorry for the lost of your beloved wife.. |
Dan isn't doing that.
| Quote: |
Hello Azim,
Thank you. However, I am not interested in sending the small fees by Western Union. This is much too involved. I simply want to send you a payment in full, in cash, by mail. I will conceal the cash carefully and use a fast shipping method. I want to pay in full and do this as quickly as possible rather than drag things out with numerous payments.
Please provide me with a shipping address where I can send you the payment.
Regards, Dan |
Azim sounds a bit nervous about my offer:
| Quote: |
Hello Mr Dan
good day and sorry for the late reply towards your mail, there is something that is not clear to me, do you want to send cash to my address? Like via a courier service or so? Or you wanted to provide to your bank account information were you can wire funds too.
I will like you to get back to me with confirmation so I know what to do though sending cash by courier is risky as it might be caught and we get to be sue of money laundry.
Looking forward to read from you soonest.
Regards |
That's Dan's offer. Take it or leave it.
| Quote: |
Hello Mr. Azim,
Yes that is correct. I would like to mail it as cash by courier. I do understand there are risks but I will conceal the contents of it very carefully. I do not want to deal with any paperwork. Just payment if full with cash and gold delivered to me. If you are unable to do this I understand, just let me know.
Regards, Dan |
Will Azim take the offer? Will Dan use a trusted courier service? Only time will tell... |

How are you doing I am sorry I could not reply to you earlier this is because it was weekend over here.I heard you clearly and understand your point. I have made the package ready for delivery to the USA below is the address were you will send the funds too. Please make sure you conceal the cash property like in a fuel paper which will prevent it from being scanned at any custom area. Also you will have to put some thing inside the package which will show that is what you are sending. Once as I can receive the cash I will start immediately with the shipping of the gold bars so I will need your delivery address so I can send the package which I will take my time to package to avoid checks.
Mailing Address
Country.......... Cameroon
Postal code.... +237
Tell number.....+2376<snip>
City......Southwest Region
Town.....Buea
Receivers names....NGWE <snip random name>
That is the address were you will send the package to please use a faster mailing service like TNT which is reliable and fast. Will be waiting to read from you. |
His address seems to be lacking information. And who is this NGWE person??
| Quote: |
Yes, I understand and I will take great care with the package and concealing the contents. Is that the full address you have provided? It only has a city and town but what is the street address? Also who is this Mr Ngwe person? I thought I was only going to be dealing with you? Why am I not sending the parcel to you directly? Please advise.
Regards, Dan |
I'm about to send him a lot of cash. He'd better not screw this up by getting me all worried... |

I know a very fast and reliable mail service if you need one. Never causes any problems and is very easy to use. Lads just love it. |

Dan's gold is ready to ship.
| Quote: |
Hello Dan
Thanks for getting back to me for clarifications. In Africa we do not use Street and house address cause its still less developed. Once you give that address I gave you make sure you write the name and the telephone number well cause when the package arrives in Cameroon Buea they will call for use to come and take the package. Also the name I gave you is the name of the cashier in charge of all funds and payments. We are a well structured company and I do not handle funds she those so don't be scared all is well. You can send the package immediately and once you do that just get back to me with the tacking number and arrival date so I know when it arrives. If you send the package today bye Saturday latest or Monday I will have it so I can proceed with yours immediately. Please once you send the package today I will be waiting to hear from you.
Regards
Azim |

I'm going out of town next week, so Dan tells him it will take some time to get the package put together.
| Quote: |
Thank you Mr Azim,
Yes that looks agreeable. It will take me approximately 1 week to get all my finances in order. Then I will get it sent out by a reliable shipping service. I will contact you as soon as I have sent the package.

I've been moving very slowly just to piss off Azim. Well over a year now of stalls and delays, but Dan FINALLY got the payment sent out.
A package containing $179,500 in CASH is on its way, via GPS!
| Quote: |
Hello Mr. Azim,
I hope you had a pleasant holiday. As promised, I have finally sent the shipment as we discussed. The contents have been well concealed within a somewhat large parcel of books. It has been shipped using GPS, I am attaching the receipt which includes the tracking number and website information so you can track the package. They told me it may 7-10 days due to the remoteness of your location. Please let me know as soon as you have received it. I thank you again for your patience as well as the miners. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as it arrives.
Regards, Dan |
Azim has immediate concerns about the company I used...
| Quote: |
Hello Dan
Thanks for the clarification i just tracked the package and it shows Denver Colorado.Another problem is i dont know is the have an office in Cameroon and i hope you gave them the telephone number which they will use to call when the package arrives. If not we will not be able to know when the package arrives cause we don't know their office.
Apart from that i spoke to the board about the package and they are waiting with your 6kg of gold bars ready to be shipped to you. Please get back to me with your delivery address and phone number so we get to start the shipping and sales documents.I believe we are business men and i dont have your phone number.
I NEED YOUR DELIVERY ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER.....
regards. Azim |
Dan is not concerned:
| Quote: |
Hello Mr. Azim,
Yes I did give them your phone number they said that it would be in the system when it arrives. They assured me that they could deliver to you, I made certain of that the lady looked it up and said that the company does operate throughout West Africa.
When the shipment is ready you can send it to me directly:
Dan Hamilton
<random fake address in Washington state>
I prefer to keep our communications via email so that we will have written understanding between us on this deal. I'm sure you understand. I look forward to hearing from you when they are ready to ship.
Regards, Dan |
A few days go by and Azim concerns are growing...
| Quote: |
Hello Dan
How have you been and i hope family is doing fine. I have concerns
with the delivery you just made.It is 5 days now and i just tracked
the package and it shows it is still in the UK so i dont know where
the package is heading and if you did the right thing bye sending the
package using that agency.
I will like you to give me a number i can call to know the status of
the package or better still you do the inquiries and keep me updated.
Rgrads
Azim |
The package is now in Spain... getting closer....
| Quote: |
Hello Mr. Azim,
I don't think there is any problem. I just checked and it shows that it has arrived in Spain now, so it is getting closer to you. I could have sent it 2-day but the cost was extremely high because the package is somewhat heavy so I chose this slower method. It may take a bit longer but according to the tracking it is getting closer to you now. Yes, I provided them with your phone number and email address when I filled the forms out when I sent it. I told them what you said about how deliveries don't go to houses in Africa. They said they would contact you when it is ready to be picked up.
Regards, Dan |

Hello Dan
thanks for getting back to me and thanks for the clarifications. What i
will like to know is the content of the package the amount sent and in
what bills, also some details on the package so we will be able to
identify it when it arrives that's the color of the cartoon if at all
you used one.
Apart from that we are trying to make sure that once the package
arrives and every thing is in place we will proceed with the delivery
of the gold bars and we will use a more faster method of devilry.
Regards |
Dan describes the package:
| Quote: |
I packed the cash within many books. I lined the sides of the box with books and the cash is inside to protect it, all large $100 bills. The package is rather heavy, perhaps 30 pounds or so. It is a nondescript brown box with a white label taped to the front with the shipping information.
I am glad that my bars are ready for shipment. I am sure my payment will arrive within the next few days and we can proceed with the deliver. I do appreciate your patience.
Regards, Dan |

Hello Dan
Thanks for the update. The guys of the GPS sent me an email saying they do not deliver in Cameroon and right now the package is in Abidjan waiting to be collected i told them it is suppose to be delivered to Cameroon but they are insisting on Abidjan which is another country. I don't know how to handle this situation now. |
Dan is confuse by this latest development:
| Quote: |
I don't understand? They told me they have offices throughout Africa. No one notified me that it would be a problem delivering to your country? How far away is Abidjan from your present location? There is a lot of money in that package, I don't really like the idea of it sitting around collecting dust. What should we do? Could you or one of the miners go and collect it from its present location?
Regards, Dan |

You could always pay for some tickets to fly him from where he is now to Abidjan to collect the cash, of course, the tickets may also end up in Abidjan waiting for him to collect. |

Of course he want GPS to give the package to DHL, and asks Dan to sort it all out....

Hello Dan
Thanks for getting back to me some one of use could go and collect it but our office is not prepared to in cure any cost. We could also send them the address so they can send the package using DHL or TNT since its already in west Africa i don't think it will be expensive. Only you can do that arrangement so please talk to them and get back to me.
Regards |
Dan will try:

I understand. I will contact them and try to figure out what is going on. I will notify you when I have more information.
Regards, Dan |
He also contacts GPS directly:

Good day sir,
My apologize sir but we are not allowed to do that it is against our company policy to use a 3rd party carrier. We are contracted with the seller to deliver to you and will require your signature for final delivery. You will need to come to the Abidjan facility to collect your parcel if you cannot collect it will be forfeit to our unclaimed department. Thank you |

it's unfortunate how poor Dan's parcels always seem to go astray when arriving in Africa ... surely he knows by now that the boneheads at GPS will never get it right? |
