He goes by the name of Marcus <Snipped-bware419ers> met on tinder, I thought he was genuine but I'm naive to all this.
Checked him in tin eye when didn't feel right and yes he's a prolific scammer.

He asked me to send money today by WU as his card won't work and he's in Turkey messages me in whatsapp phone no <Snipped-bware419ers>.

What do I do now?

If he has any of your real life details then drop him immediately, it is not safe playing with scammers who have access to your real life details.

Drop him immedietly, you'll be surprised by the amount of damage can be done when a criminal seeking retaliation can do with a phone number.

I'd suggest heading over to scamwarners.com and posting his information over there, they are more use for reporting scammers and alerting others, here we mess with them in other 'interesting' ways.

Hi,

What I recommend is drop him immediately but then re-engage him from a burner phone, google voice or some other way so that he doesn't have your real number. Start a new character. Then the fun begins: wasting his time, making him jump through hoops etc. Check out the posts here for ideas. It's a lot of fun HOWEVER never engage with any real details. For example, the "fake" email I use to bait gets an unbelievable amount of spam. So glad I didn't use my real one.

I definitely second this. I love to play with scammers on the phone, but I always use a burner phone and change the SIM in it regularly.

I made the mistake of accidentally giving one my real phone number once. Let's just say I would definitely recommend dropping the scammer in that situation.

I was once in the middle of a long bait and made the mistake of replying from my real email with my real signature line and all of my work details (which magnified the disaster) in the bottom of that email. I quickly sent about 10 other replies from my fake email hoping that one F up would get lost in his inbox. Seems like it worked. I then (very nicely) and slowly dropped the lad so he wouldn't retaliate. I told him that my wife had just run off with all of my money so I couldn't send him the "fees" but when I got back on my feet I would be back in touch. That was a close call.
