I have just joined this forum and stumbled across it while researching a Benin scam. I have been replying to some fraud guy (Agent Morris Jackson) who apparently is stuck in an airport in Atlanta and for the sum of $180 I could have him release the funds (all 8.5 million dollars) and be rich instantly!
I should prob. just delete these messages but decided to play along, and now after over 100 email messages between us, he still is trying to get me to send money! Persistent or stupid? Not sure which he is.
For "proof" he sent a stock image of a businessman holding a briefcase. Pictures of Reagan airport in Washington (though he is supposedly stuck in Atlanta), a fake certificate saying the IMF will give me money (with all their typos on the certificate!), and then more images of airports and stock images of Atlanta. Amazing........LOL
Tonight I rec'd a certificate stating that the High Court of Benin has awarded me, (yes, me of all people!!!) 8.5 million dollars, but it was dated today, and he's been in an airport for a week waiting for my money transfer!
I pretended to play along and said in my small town, the post office lady won't do a wire transfer to Benin as she said it was a fraud. He answered my email saying "NO, don't listen to her."
My favourite part was him telling me of a friend he had who lives close to me (close being a relative term in Canada!) so I said I knew her! He backed off quickly after that..........
Not sure how long I can keep it going but at over 100 emails, it's been a fun ride!

Nice going so far with your bait, BUT

If you are using your personal email account, or any account with your real life details,

DROP IT NOW.

Set up a few email accounts with fake names details, then dive back in.

There are plenty more lads to choose from, but if this one has anything connected with your real life

WALK AWAY.

Irish is right, this scammer may seem like a clown with all his mistakes, but he is a criminal who very likely has enough of your real life details to cause you and your family/friends real problems if he realises you are messing him around.

The email is a throw away one, and the name on it isn't even mine, so no personal info is "out there".
However, your warnings are well taken and I think it's time to just not reply to him. Hopefully I wasted enough of his time now that it helped others not get taken.
I don't want to get too smug about this!

Congrats on 100 emails and all those trophies! You obviously have a knack for baiting. I hope you will continue – there are lots of lads to bait in the Surplus thread, and the folks here are very helpful. Welcome!

One thing that hit me reading replies here is that while I thought it was fun, and these people were "only" scammers, I have to remember as someone wrote they are criminals. First and foremost they are criminals, with all that that can encompass. I just don't want to get too smart at it for my own good. I have not heard back from him now so am guessing he finally gave up.

In the 'scambaiting help' forum you can also sign up for a mentor, an experienced baiter who will help to show you the ropes, especially the all-important ones of baiting safely and not involving ITPs (Innocent Third Parties). This is very, very helpful!
