Wow, this hobby's fun, if not a little addictive! I've just started on another lad who goes by the name of Jessica Amanda. A pet scammer. Specifically, it would seem a reptile pet scammer. The original advertisement was that they had three Green Tree Pythons for sale. Amazingly, when I asked if they had other species available they said yes!

I'll post the conversation so far, but not much has happened yet. We're still in the early stages (?). Compared to my other gags with other lads I'm trying to be more thoughtful and not so extravagant on the outlandish details. But hey, I'm still learning so please bear with me. Perhaps with time I'll improve my technique.

So . . . Enter Tricky, a guy who's finally had a chance to begin his snake breeding business! It would seem the fates are smiling down on him, all his dreams are about to come true!

You see, Jessica's gmail profile picture was a lady, so Tricky had to comment on that. He's very charming. Whether that's what Jessica actually looks like or she's simply stolen someone's picture I don't know. Although it's most likely the latter.

Jessica sent me this after a lengthy day and a half wait. I put a portion of the message in italics because in the email it was in a different font with a coloured background. I believe she copied and pasted the info from another source, somewhere. Not to mention she also sent me another butt-load of pictures which had a light sprinkling of Red Tailed Boas and Reticulated Pythons to a generous coating of Ball Pythons and their numerous colour and pattern mutations.

In regards to Jessica it turns out she can provide purple pied Anacondas, and everything else that I thought didn't exist. Amazing right?

Let's take a moment to ponder the address I've provided. For one, I've purposely done a typo or two. Furthermore, if I did write this address correctly I wonder if Jessica would still be keen to do business? Most likely she probably won't notice or even care.

And I stand corrected. It would appear that Jessica doesn't care about the postal address I've provided. Along with this email she has attached an image of the so-called invoice. It's too small to see all the details without clicking and downloading it. I didn't do this as I'm not sure if there's a chance that it could have some nasty things. Am I being paranoid here? Anyone know how I can proceed from here?

Lovable Prankster welcome to eater! I've taken the liberty of masking your character's name (love the name Tricky by the way) so that the lad doesn't find it should he google you. Moving forward, you might want to post a different name, or just go with Tricky, when posting your bait. Some people have had lads find their baits simply by googling the character's name.

As I understand it a JPG can be infected but I do not think its an issue. The issue is that anything a lad does is wrong. He should transcribe all quantities, descriptions and prices in the body of the email and then covert the actual document into a PDF. If he sends a DOC or DOCX file he should be slapped, told to put the same info into the body and again send it as a PDF. If he sends a PDF he should be slapped and told to send it as a DOCX file and on a spreadsheet.

You have been looking at properties with your contractor so you have been very busy. The contractor will do tenant improvement in the rental, putting up cages, displays, sales counters and office space. BTW, I never open any file other than a photo sent by a lad with a program on my computer. I will use Google Docs from my tablet and IRFANVIEW to view JPGS on my computer.

I don't see any way that a JPEG can be infected. A file with the extension .jpg can be another type of file which is infected, but a JPEG does not contain any executable or interpretable code. A PDF or PS file does contain interpreted code and therefore can theoretically be infected. I'm not worried about it though; I open all of them with Okular.

I once had a Word file sent by a lad crash or be unopenable in both word processors, Open Office and Calligra, whereas files I made I could turn into PDFs with no problem (it was a contract I had to sign and send back). I had him send me a PDF, which I then opened in the Gimp, signed, saved in some raster image format, and sent back. I never heard back because his sheeper's domain went down.

Also, thank you for the advice provided. Well, I requested Jessica to send me the details in the body of the email. I think she sent me three different versions, one that was written in, the other looks like the text was copy and pasted from the image, and an image embedded in the email. She's also sent me a few more emails asking if I received the details and that I should hurry up with the order. Sorry Jessica, you'll have to wait a few more days. Going to be busy. The weekend's full of possibilities. I wonder if she'll keep sending me reminders?

Didn't ask for a Kraken, Jayhawk, although I might just do that!
