Interested Cracked article on 419 scammers

The website Cracked often does "Personal Experience" articles, where they interview people from unusual fields or areas of life experience like prostitution, drug addiction crime, being in prison and the like. They released one today which interviewed a 419 scammer.

A lot of the information in it is stuff we already know, but there are some pretty interesting details about how the game works from a lad's perspective:

The talk of manuals for scammers makes me wonder...

1. Do they have a site just like this only in reverse

2. What would it take to get a copy of one of those manuals

3. How muxh collective fun coulld we have with it

I highly doubt it. If lads can find us by accident, I guarantee that if we would find it intentionally by now, if such site existed, we would know it.

2. What would it take to get a copy of one of those manuals

First of all, I assume that the manual is what we call a "script", only a bit more detailed, that is several parts of his story and instructions when to use which part of their script. How to obtain it -

Be in the house with them really. They have all the reasons to support those within their circle, but zero reason to support anyone outside it. Their loyalty ends with their house, for the most part.

Well, it'd give you the advantage to know his script, the only value in which I see you could publish entirety of his script, say on scamwarners.com, other than being useful information, I don't see how much fun could it be. Smile

I'm pleased to see that the comments section is pretty much universally condemnatory of the lad. And Cracked readers are probably going to have some creativity and interesting senses of humor. I wonder if we could recruit new baiters from there if we plug Eater. Maybe even see if they are interested in doing another article, but from our perspective.

I wonder if the folks at Cracked.com would be interested in doing a write-up about scam baiters/baiting. Given that a few members of this Forum have already done media outreach work, maybe one of them could be persuaded to drop Cracked a line?

I thought it was a pretty good and reasonably balanced article, just hope they didn't pay their lad much!

And don't worry Mortal.... there's some tiny print under the image that may have gone unnoticed, they're just making a joke rather than making suggestions to improve the format:

The part they suggest omitting says "As soon as you get your fund I will be with you in your state for celebration over the great miracle from God....".

Tiny text below says: The only god Facebook employees know prefers to go by "Mark."

Interesting bits in that article, if true would be good for scaring or forcing the lad to do things.

Between the article itself and the comments section, I felt inspired to finally start baiting myself. A few commenters mentioned 419eater, and here I am!

As a longtime Cracked reader, I would be very interested in reading an article from the perspective of experienced scambaiter(s).
