Getting lad arrested!

My lad is exasperated! Troy MCClure is really stupid and has messed up Mei egg ram so many times that he has asked for the money to be sent by post. So I have his name and adress. Can I forward this to the police in Benin or would they laugh?

Sounds to me like he needs it delivered via our favorite and most reliable shipping company...I hear that GPS is 100% risky free...

It won't be happy address and he will probably demanding you use DHL UPS or FedEx and then he will want a tracking code and a date so he can intercept it .

Everyone here would be thrilled if it were that simple. But think about the police wherever you live. If someone sent them a bunch of e mails that prove someone is a thief would they act on it? Even if they could, as the jurisdiction is questionable. And in a 3rd world country no less. I'm sure they feel they have many more pressing things to do with their budget.
It has happened in rare cases though. Keep up the good work.

Avalar and Braintoxic are correct - using the address to send the package by GeePeeEss Eeetrack is a good idea.

You could also keep the Lad's details for later use in dollar chops, by giving it as the receiver's name and address.

The short answer to your question is no. For starters, no crime has yet been committed in your case. Also, you would likely need to pay the local LE a "fee" (aka bribe) to get them to move even if you had lost money to this lad. If this were not the sad reality, there would be no need for scam baiting in the first place.

that is true for the american-british style of law-making.

for continental europe, the attempt has been made, and that's enough.

sadly, the police of nigeria or benin wouldn't accept this... even though benin should have some derivation of the french code civil.

yet for an arrest, you'd need to get the lad to do something really stupid. and if you are in the position to get the lad to do something very stupid, you can also get him tattooed, which is much funnier Wink

or on safari (where he gets stredded).

Few things
1) How do you know this is his actual address and not the one of an accomplice, friend, relative or whatever? Maybe it's a local business where he's friends with the owner or what have you, so I'd rather be VERY careful when doing something about this place. It's great fun if you can send another lad there to pay a visit (check old Shorty treads, this was done great success), but be 150% sure that it's he and not an ITP you'll find there.
2) The police will do nothing. Even if they did, odds he was arrested are very few (he hasn't actually scammed you and if you happen to know he has scammed someone else, tell the mods at once so that they can try and make the arrangements for the victim to be warned). They'd probably just pay a visit. If you want him to get arrested, better get him to safari to a military compound or something of the sort. Proving it is another kettle of fish.
3) Him demanding you to send him something by courier is a blessing, just one thing: don't ask him for permission to use GPS or Escargo if it's still up. Just go ahead and do it, or misunderstand him. If you mention using it like "hey, next to my house there is a Phony courier office, can we use it instead of DSL?" You'll just get into a pointless discussion.

So go ahead "send" him the parcel, let it get lost and infuriate him nice and good.

you could go with the very old and fun modality: just put a piece of paper into the package, with a nice note of our beloved Mr. Gomer.
