Hello world,

I have been scambaiting for a bit now, and I thought I could possibly get on to heavier stuff than just wasting their time on email, and the other day, I stumbled on a guy who made his scammer join the "Red Breast Church", and thus sending photos of himself with his breast painted red.

I thought of doing something similar, and as I am a great fan of Lovecraftian works (Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, etc.), I thought that I could get my scammer to join the (obviously fictional) Cthulhu cult! And maybe send photos of himself wearing tentacles, all that kind of fun stuff.

My question is for veteran scambaiters:

Do you think this is going too far? Is my scammer going to accept to go all that way just to scam me? And if you think it is possible, do you have any advice on how I could get him to join the Cthulhu Cult?

I don't think anything is too far when it comes do dealing with these assholes. If you can get them to "join" and waste their time....that is what it is all about.

This baiter does some great work with the church of the old gods. Love his work

I do not think anything is going too far for the lads. The only issue I can see is if you google Cthulhu, you will find many references to "Beyond the Mountains of Madness". Still, if you pulled it off, it would be amazing.

Well, for whatever it's worth my character claims to be a senior executive at the Dägon Wholesale Canneries, and has the graphics to prove it. When I get a 'business loan' lad I try to interest him in manganese nodule mining at the co-ordinates of R'lyeh etc etc.

So far only one lad's tumbled at all, and he sternly informed my character that the character wasn't a 'true Christian' and that he, the lad, was too well-educated about religion to be fooled into joining an 'occult group'.

(shrugs)
