This might sound ridiculous, but I've spent half my life AVOIDING scammers that I forgot which sites I should get my e-mail on to attract them. Any help would be appreciated

Mugu Guestbook (link) is always a popular choice. You can also pick any email from our Surplus scam forum and send them a reply as if you've actually received the email yourself. Hardly any scammers care about whether you were on their "sent" list as they tend to operate in bulk.

A lazy but useful approach is to generate a fresh email account. Set a vacation responder saying "how can I help with this?" Then use it to reply to a few dozen surplus lads. The auto response will get the address marked as live, and before you know it your clean new address will be passed around, traded and filthied up with dozens of new scams every day. Remember to set up a filter to prevent anything going to spam or you'll lose the lot. Enjoy your nasty inbox Laughing

^ Settings vary by provider but usually Gmail will only send it once in response to each sender every 2 weeks or so to stop it being a nuisance (and tipping off lads)

Nailgunner is absolutely correct. I think that extremely low level lads are paid a fixed sum for each live email address that they harvest. They can multiply their income by selling the email address to multiple scammers.

To work around the limitations of the vacation response I like to step in every few days and craft a semi individual response that incorporates the scammer's name, scam and dangles cash while attaching a high megapixel, low resolution photo of a "B" list television actress. After I have responded to all the lads in my box I then reset the vacation script to another generic response.

^^^^ OK, I get it.

I started out with the Mugu guest book, which seems to be mostly Beninians (SP?), but over the months I have gotten on a lot of other sucker lists, many Nigerians and Cote de Ivorians. I recently launched a new persona on the guestbook and was surprised at the emails I didn't get, but which came to the older accounts which had been aired on the guestbook months ago.

My very first baiting account is now my catcher. I had signed up just for a couple of dating sites notorious for scammers and now I get the full assortment. I do have to check my spam folder every week.
