The dozens of times I've tried this bit I've never had one just run away. There's ALWAYS a "this is all real and not a scam" reply and at least one or two abusive messages before we get to the tipping point where the lad either jumps in and joins me or just slinks off. This lad bolted for the hills in a hurry!
I'm helping my friend by sending the bank transfer receipt...
-----
Me: Is this the right person to send the bank transfer receipt to?
Lad: Yes sir, iam. you can send it here. Thanks.
Me: Hello my little African thief. I suggest your read this entire message before you respond. There is a chance for a great deal of profit for both of us.
First, let's get something straight between us. You are not a woman, you have no starving children, this is all just another 419 scam and you're sitting in an internet cafe trying to steal a little bit of money. I know your game so you can skip the part were you insist this is all real. It's not.
Here's what you don't know. Carling is indeed an old man slowly dying in hospice and his mind isn't very clear any more. That's probably why he believes your stupid story. The good news is he is rich. REALLY rich. He made tens of millions of dollars back in the 80's working in software.
If we work together we can pull more money than you've ever seen in your scamming life out the old man and he won't know the difference. I have a plan I know will work but it will take both of us to make it work.
Are you interested in becoming the richest little scammer in Africa? I'm waiting to hear your response.
Lad to his victim: Dear Carl,
First read the message from your lawyer below.
I dont think i will need your help anymore, if the people you trusted and call your lawyer can write this, then there is no need for this.
Just be careful, dont worry i will try and get help somewhere else.
Thanks and God bless.
Anny.
Me: Cute email to Carling. Don't worry, he never saw it. I help him with his email since he's stuck in bed so he only sees what I allow him to see.
You have no interest in getting rich? What kind of scammer are you?
If you're not smart enough to pull off a REAL scam then pass your Anny bullshit on to someone else.
-----
And that was it. I sent a couple of "are too much of a pussy for this game" messages and some "are you all right" emails from the victim but Anny was gone.
Too lazy to do anything but scrape for nickels? Too stupid to understand the invitation?
I vote both. On to the next! |

This happens pretty frequently when I contact lads with my crooked banker Mr Hilts. About a third respond with interest, another third try to warn my main character but find out he's too stupid to understand that he's being cheated by his banker, and another third try to ignore Hilts's solicitation or just drop the scam entirely. |

I guess I've just had a lucky run, this is the first to just disappear.
I make a point to get the lad well-hooked long before I bring the evil attorney into play, it can take many weeks to get to that spot in the game. I've found that once they're invested in it they're a little bit easier to trap. I may have moved a little too quickly on this one.
Hehe...I'm already reeling in another; it's not like we're going to run out of lads. |
