Thank you so much, all! I couldn't have done it without the best of mentors. I hope to be able to put in a few more years of ladhurt and obfuscation before old age finishes me.
Thanks are also due to 'Mr MĂŒnich PĂ€rlson' for his unwitting provision of trophies. This lad has been chasing 310 USD from my character through hell, high water and the HSDS for almost three months now. It seems that no obstacle can deter him from his stupidity, avidity and greed. I live in hope of my first sandtimer... |

Come to think of it, thanks should also go to the fertile minds of the authors of the original 1960s Dark Shadows soap opera, not just for providing a ready-made character, but also for a series of plot lines to serve as instant inspiration.
I have a lad now who claims to be an 'attorney' in Ghana. His plain-vanilla 'consignment box' scam went psychedelic when he grudgingly admitted that he was in fact in possession of 'The Petofi Box', a small container for the severed hand of the evil Count Petofi. This relic possesses fabulous magical powers, and the lad was offering to dispatch it to my character for a surprisingly small fortune, considering.
Unfortunately the Petofi Box comes complete with the evil assassin Aristede, who chases the box around the world trying to take the Hand and reunite it with the immortal Count Petofi, who understandably wants it back. And he seems to be on the trail of the 'attorney'...
Will our lad survive Aristede long enough for the team of mercenaries my character has hired to rush to his rescue? |

...to be fair to 'Barrister CrÀwford Jönathan', he did require quite a bit of prompting and spoon-feeding to go from 'consignment box' to 'Pëtofi Box' and even now I don't think he's quite sure what's supposed to be in it. Still, I was delighted when the magick words unexpectedly came to my inbox:
