I've been picked to receive a grant!
Even more exciting, I was picked out of not only the population of our planet but other contenders, too.

Enough has happened in this one that I think I'll post the story so far.
Unfortunately, no extra-terrestrials have yet appeared.
====================
I pick up an opening format from the Surplus forum that is promising me a large grant from the Qatar foundation. Whoo-hoo! Free money!
There is one problem, however...
| I wrote: |
Dear Hussain Omar Habib,
I am confirming your email after reading it and understanding what you wrote.
I have one question, however, which I hope you can answer for me.
Because of what I did when I was younger, I am not allowed to enter Qatar. My passport has been banned from entering that country. I understand why they did it, and as I said I was younger when it happened and I have changed since then, so I am not complaining about that.
What I am puzzled about is why the Qatar Foundation is offering me a donation after the things I did to their country back in the 90s.
Please explain what the situation is, please.
thanks,
Rachel Xxxxxxx |
The "banned from having a Mastercard" thing worked so well in another ongoing bait that I copy and adapt it for this one: banned from entering Qatar! (Because, of course, I did something naughty involving Qatar when I was a youngster.) Oh no! What if I need to visit Qatar in order to pick up my money?

I fail to notice the important bit near the beginning where he answers my concerns about my problems with Qatar.
| I wrote: |
Dear Mr Hussain Omar Habib,
Thank you deeply for your reply. The words contained therein filled my heart and mind with excitement!
But you didn't answer my concern about Qatar and my being banned from ever entering that country again. My passport is not allowed through its borders, so I'm wondering if this grant is also not allowed to be given to me.
Please reply and answer my concern.
Thank you,
Rachel Xxxxxxx |

Like i said in my previous mail to you.
You are given the opportunity get this offer from us, and once this is done and you have cash your check, we can also uplift your banned into our country.
Also know that, a courier company will be in-charge to deliver the check/docs to your country even without you coming to our office in Qatar. |

Dear Mr Hussain Omar Habib,
Thank you for your very quick response to my email.
Your words are making my mind be more restful tonight. Ever since I received your first email, I was worrying myself into a panic that my past would be brought back to be pushed into my face and I would be made to feel the shame I felt back then. I was a silly young woman back then, and I regret it all very much, but the authorities in Qatar have continued to keep me from entering their country.
But you say they might change this decision and allow me to re-enter now? This is amazing! I will be able to go and visit my father's side of my family in their native land for the first time in 20 years! This is amazing and I am so hopeful this will happen.
I will complete your form tomorrow afternoon after I have slept and calmed down. I am too excited to think straight right now, and I must go and take some sleeping pills so that I can get to sleep.
hope to hear from you soon,
Rachel |

It's okay. You have no troubles.

How are you this day? I hope all is well with you and your loved ones.
I slept a wonderful sleep last night, thank you for the good wishes. I had a nice dream but it was a little bit naughty, the kind of dream a girl likes to have, so I won't embarass you with the details.
Talking of details, here are the details you asked for:

Dear Mr Omar,
Thank you for your lovely email this morning! Your emails always bring light to my life now, and make me feel good inside.
I can't wait for my donation to arrive and, not just because it's money to spend on myself, but because you say that the authorities in Qatar will lift my ban. That means I can spend some of my donation on travelling to Qatar to see the rest of my family whom I haven't seen for over 10 years now. This is so good!
Yes, I feel very lucky with my dreams. I have that type of dream a lot, and they often give me ideas about what I can do when.... you know... I'm getting sexy with a boyfriend. I don't have anyone right now so I'm a little bit lonely, but that's nothing compared to the good news you bring to me!
I will contact the courier service this afternoon, Mr Omar, and send them my informations like you requested. I have to leave the house for a few hours right now so I can't do it at this minute, but I will when I get back, okay?
lots of love,

Dear Mr Omar,
How are you today? I hope fine.
I have today received a reply from the Courier service.
Dr Grant Lutz is asking for me to send a fee for some strange thing. You never mentioned this in your email, and I find it strange that I should have to pay when I am being given a large grant. Did you know about this? If not, I suggest you email Dr Grant Lutz and explain that this is an unexpected demand and you are surprised and angry about it.
To be honest, Mr Omar, I am not sure I can pay that much money in such a short time.
Please do your best to explain to Dr Grant Lutz that I will be struggling to pay this fee and, if possible, get him to look the other way and dismiss it. I fear a delay from me (because I will be struggling to gather together that much spare cash) might mean I miss out on my grant AND on being allowed back to Qatar. Please help me sort this out, please!
thanks,
Rachel |

Thanks dear Rachel.
I understand your email content very well.
We also received same email from the Courier and you have to know that, it's not the Courier but the Custom, I fear this might get you hurt as i am too.
But i have to let you know this, this donation will play a vital role in your financial life and change your family name till the end of the world, and know that Qatar foundation is one of a kind.
I will advice you to do this, let me know how much you have, so i can try my very best to add to it and pay the Custom fees, once you cash the check, you can pay me back immediately, and you will have to promise me that you wouldn't hurt me by not paying me back the amount i will assist you with, am counting on your words.
Get back to me with how much money you have, so i can try my very best for you as well.
I'm a pure heart Muslim, i trust you the way i trust myself, and you wouldn't regret doing this to get the amount of money, the million pounds is not a small amount of money and i want you to know that. |
| I wrote: |
Dear Mr Omar,
I received your email and read the contents with extreme understanding.
Thank you for offering to help me with that stupid fee that Dr Grant Lutz has slapped on this business. I still don't understand why he wants it. It's for customs, you say? Then why am I not paying my money directly to UK's customs office? I don't understand that.
But anyway, with regard to your kind offer, I will go to my bank tomorrow and see how much I can afford to withdraw and let you know so you can make your own contribution towards this ridiculous fee.
thank you greatly,
Rachel |
| Lad wrote: |
Thank you so much.
Yes, you have to do as the Courier told you, don't have any fear in mind, i can't let you down on anything i promise you with my life.
I'm a pure Muslim, i don't say what i can't do, or treat people wrongly, because i know what my Holy Quran said about that.
Just follow my advice and you will have no problem of any kind. I want you to receive this donation and be proud of Qatar again for everything.
So how much have you withdraw from the account now? Respond on time so i can do something immediately.

The text of the above email looks okay, right? Well, the text is fine but the sender and the return address were definitely not! For some reason, the sender was "Australia Post Promo" and the return address was to claimscarecenter2015 at a free email provider.
What's going on here, then?
Time to warn Mr Omar...

Dear Mr Omar,

I have just received an email this morning claiming to be from you, but this is the informations of the email at the top showing the sender and the subject and everything:
FROM: Australia Post Promo <[email protected]>
REPLY-TO: [email protected]
What is "Australia Post Promo"?
What is "claimscarecentre2015"?
I clicked on my Reply button and saw that the email would be sent to a different address so I looked at that last email further and found out what I showed you above.
I think an online hacker has broken into your account and is maybe going to scam you or steal your identity or something.
I won't write any more because he might be reading all your emails.
I am very worried now.

Wow! I'm very surprise right now.
Well i have to report that email to the police of Qatar to check and followed up the issue.
So have you withdraw now for the Custom fees as we talked?
I was about asking you how much you got, so i can add to it and clear this once. |

Dear Mr Omar,
Hello again.
I see you are using your personal email account now.
What happened? Do you think it was online hackers who got into your other email? I am scared that they got my personal infos that I have already sent to you. Let me know what is going on, okay?
I went to the bank and I think I will be able to withdraw £400. It will be a difficult month for me, however, I might have to miss a few meals because I am lacking money this month.
please get back to me,
Rachel |

Yes am using a personal email to write you now.
Some hacker gets access to our private email but don't worry, be rest assured that you are safe.
Your details wasn't inside the email, the day you sent it, you put it down on our paper files and documented it in the office.
Good news, I met with the Qatar Embassy today in regards of your file and case, they will left it up and you can enter Qatar any time any day once they cleared it from the system, I'm working seriously on it.
Okay, I will give you details which you will send the £400 via Money Gram or Western Union, and I will be paying the other part but please promise me one thing, that once you get the check and cashed it, you sending my part I helped you with, please give me your 100% word and surety please.
You wouldn't stress yourself over meals or anything, once we pay this, the check will be sent to you within 4hours after the fees has be received by the Custom.
Thanks,

This time it's attached to a different address.

Dear Mr Omar,
I have two of your emails to reply to so forgive me if I miss anything. It is not deliberate but because I simply overlooked it.
Okay... first I am very delighted that you confirm the Qatar authorities are willing to let me back in to their wonderful country. If I could go back in time and stop my younger self from doing those stupid things I would do it in an instant. I was angry back then, Mr Omar, and I was young and stupid also. I can't wait to get back to Qatar. This is so good for me!
In both of your emails you sound a little bit worried that I will betray you or something? Don't think this! I am looking up to you as a hero, a wonderful person who has changed my life around in the past week, and I will always and for ever hold you in the highest regard for doing these things. I would never hurt you, Mr Omar. NEVER.
I'm not familiar with how to thank Allah for these events so if you could give me some guidance then I will read your words and do what you advise. I have never been a woman of faith until now.
The issue with the online hacker has scared me. I read what you said about my details being secure and unaffected, but I hope you can understand my concern. It's a scary thing to think about, knowing some evil person can read your personal and private informations whenever they want to. I am still slightly nervous about the situation but if nothing bad happens then I can rest assured that I am safe.
I will make arrangements to get the money to your agent Ms Xxxxx Tooth. Is she a nice woman? Have you met her or talked to her? I think she will be a kind and gentle soul because she is connected to your Qatar Foundation, and this foundation is an organization full of good people. I have made a note of her address and details, and know where I must go.
Okay, I will plan on handing the £400 to her sometime next week, depending on my schedule. I will let you know as soon as it happens.
thank you, and grateful blessings,
Rachel |

Your information is very secured and safe, you have 100% surety and guarantee about that.
Ms. Xxxxx Tooth is a nice person and she has be with us for over 6years now. Yes we have met many times.
Thanks for appreciating Qatar Foundation, we are happy to hear all this sweet words from you about our company.
I will advice you to send the £400 by latest Monday, to avoid more fees charges, and for me to be able to send the balance as well.
More delay is not good and also know that, the check has a limited time of expiring.
I'm not here to hurt you, i want you to know you are on the right side, ALLAH is my witness, i can't let you suffer lost over your £400
Please try and arrange that amount and send by Monday to clear all this once and to avoid delay.
You have a whats-app? Maybe we can chat at times there. |

Sorry for not writing a lot, but I am exhausted after dealing with my household crisis.

| I wrote: |
Dear Mr Omar,
I'm not sure I like the tone of your last message. I am feeling like a schoolgirl getting told off, and that's not a good feeling right now.
Are you serious? Moneygram? Western Union? To send some money to a woman in London from here in Padstow? I will let this silliness go just this once because I know you are not familiar with how we do things in the civilized world here. Hardly anyone over here knows what those money transfer services are, and you can walk around most towns and barely see even one place to use such services. They just don't figure in Western society for most people. Okay, okay, so you live in Qatar and probably haven't been to the UK but believe me, my dear, when I say that the idea of using those services to send another UK citizen a payment is absurd to the highest degree!
I also see more of your unfamiliarity with UK dealings when you ask me to "retrieve" the payment from the Royal Mail postal service. If I weren't feeling so scolded by your demeaning email, I would have laughed out loud at that suggestion! My envelope with the money will be somewhere in a HUGE network of couriers, carriers, routing services, sorting offices, or wherever it currently is in our mail system. Retrieving an item is next to impossible once it's been sent, not until it arrives at its destination. Again, I understand you are completely ignorant of how things work in this world so I will forgive you for that part.
And finally........ the envelope containing the money WILL ARRIVE AT MS TOOTH's ADDRESS. Why should I get it back from her and then send it to her AGAIN? This is silly.
No, it's worse than silly. It makes zero sense and it is delaying things. MS Xxxxx TOOTH WILL GET THE PAYMENT IN HER HANDS WHEN HER MAIL IS DELIVERED BY WEDNESDAY AT THE LATEST. Do you see? Do you see why I am feeling so angry that you are telling me off for doing something that still gets the payment where it needs to go?
I am exchausted, Mr Omar, I am so angry nd annoyed at being treated this way.
DO NOT MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A LITTLE CHILD just because YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE.

Ms Xxxxx Tooth will have her hands on the £400 when she opens her mail on Wednesday morning.
THE MONEY HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT TO ITS DESTINATION.
Now come on, stop being so stupid and grow up, please.

Okay.
Send me the tracking details to give to her.
Sorry for the way I send you message and I don't know how you operate in your country.
Thanks. |
A grovelling lad? Nice.
| I wrote: |
Dear Omar,
I accept your apology. Please accept mine in return because I feel I might have been a little too strong in my replies. I was very angry, you see, and wasn't thinking straight.
Anyway, I have scanned in the receipt I got from the post office today.
Please find it attached.
thanks,
Rachel |
I make up the following Royal Mail receipt:

It's okay, why can't i track the parcel with 775419674R48
Once she receive it, i will let you know or you re direct the payment to Qatar or a bank account in UK. |
| I wrote: |
Dear Mr Omar,
I don't know why you can't track the parcel. Are you sure you typed the numbers in correctly? Are you using the right website?
I can enter the tracking number and I can see the progress from the time I handed it across the counter (at 13:20 today) to where it is currently sitting in a warehouse in Milton Keynes awaiting despatch to the London sorting and routing office.
But okay, let's wait until she receives her mail. If you are still having trouble accessing the progress page, let me know and I'll update you what I find there.
thanks,
Rachel
P.S. I forgot to thank you for your advice about how to thank Allah. That was very useful and I felt good when I tried it. I've never been a truly devout Christian girl and never really liked the church things that much and thought they were too flamboyant and like showing off. Sitting quietly and being grateful to Allah is much more my suited to my tastes. Thank you! |

Love it! I wonder at what point "Rachel" will try to travel to Qatar, and get arrested? |

Love the Royal Mail receipt. It looks so authentic and could definitely have fooled me, apart from the double insurance. That sounds a bit fishy. LOL |

Silence for four days. The date for Ms Tooth to get the payment has passed, so what's going on?
| I wrote: |
Dear Mr Omar,
How are things today? I hope well.
I have not heard from you or Ms Tooth for a few days now. The delivery deadline for my payment has long passed so I expect Ms Tooth has got it now? Can you confirm this for me please? I am worried with this silence you are giving me now. Please reply and let me know things are okay and are progressing as planned.
peace be with you,
Rachel |
And instantly in reply I get:
| Gmail wrote: |
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain gmail.com by gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com. [2607:f8b0:4001:c1d::1b].
The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.2.1 The email account that you tried to reach is disabled. d11si14702540igz.74 - gsmtp |
That's annoying. Someone complained and got his account shut down? Hmpf. All I can do is wait, I guess, and see if he sets up a new one and contacts me again... |

That's a shame..... I've very recently had a few ongoing scammers with gmail addresses disabled - I'd been wondering if google have become stricter more recently.
Let's hope he gets back to you from a different addy. |

Qatar may be coming back!
A week ago, I sent the following to the courier company address:
| I wrote: |
Dear Dr Grant Lutz,
How are you, sir?
I don't know if you remember me, but you were dealing with me and my allocation of a grant from the Qatar Foundation authorised by Mr Hussain Omar Habib.
Unfortunately, when I went to send Mr Omar notification that the payment he requested has been made, it turns out his email address has been suspended. He had trouble with online hoodlums and hackers a few weeks ago, so perhaps this is related to it? I don't know.
Anyway, is there any method I can use to contact Mr Omar?
thank you,
[Baiter Name] |
And I hear nothing until this morning when I get this simple but obvious email:
Looks like he finally got himself organized and things could be going ahead again.
| I wrote: |
I received a strange email from the courier company that I was hoping would be sending my donation grant, with just an email address (this one I'm writing to) and the name of the person from the Qatar Foundation I was dealing with a few weeks ago.
Is that you, Mr Omar?
I HOPE SO! Oh my great god above, I hope so! I have been going crazy wondering what had been going on!
Please get back to me and confirm that everything is okay and we can continue our process of getting the donation to me and---more importantly, I realize---getting my Qatar ban lifted so I can visit the rest of my family.
thanks,
[Baiting Name] |
I might be able to return to Qatar. What joy!
EDIT: Maybe not. This is strange.
Almost immediately, he replies from his new address as the Omar character:

You are not serious person as i thought you are.
Am sorry i can't do anything for you, you played with my kindness, you can go to your courier Royal Mail to get your £400
Remind you, we don't work like that in this office, someone who can't adherence to instruction or advice and does her own.
What will happen when you finally have the donation and the ban uplift? That means we all are not safe then.
Your number you provided never ring for once, and its not a working number.
Playing with us or playing with me? Which one? |
Can't be having that tone of voice, boy!
| I wrote: |
Mr Omar,
I am not sure I like the tone of your last email message.
Over here, if we want to buy things or pay for things, it is perfectly normal to put a cheque in an envelope and sent it to the person requesting the money. As an example, last week I sent off a cheque for £234 to pay for an order or lapel badges that I ordered from a company that makes these badges. This morning, my order turned up at my door. No problems, NO INSULTS, perfectly normal service.
But I don't know if I should write any more. You are obviously in an aggressive mode towards me so this makes me doubly sad. (1) I wanted to resume my friendship with you. Now, I'm not sure if I can. (2) I wanted to return to Qatar to see my family. I'm not sure that will happen now.
Did you ask the courier company to send that email with your new address in it, just to hurt me? Because your next email to me was full of insults, and I am hurting really bad now.
Rachel |
(It's true; I did receive an order of lapel badges this morning, exactly as described.) |
