I have a lad trying to bait me on a Western Union transfer.
He sent me a tracking number and name to pick up $5k.

The tracking of course is fake, but he sends me a link that is:
https://wumt.westernunion.com

This site says the number is valid.
I try to check out the site to get owner info, but it all links to Western Union. I thought it was a simple spoof page, but it really looks legit.

Anyone know what this is?

That is the real Western Union website.

Sounds like he is trying to use you to pick up his scam money for him, sent by a third party.

I see quite a few of those, usually the lad has spent the minimum go get a Western Union money order. When you check the website it does not tell you how much the money order is for.

The version I typically see is that the victim has to pay some kind of fee before they can actually claim the money order.

I would suggest that you do two things.

1.) Send the info to any Moderator. They know what to do with the working number so that the Lad will not be able to use the transfer for a scam.

2.) WIMP the lad.
