Hey y'all,

I recently discovered this site after I started using the Tinder app. Although most of its users are real, it is full of fake profiles run by scammers that match with everybody in a particular area; these use chatbots to try to get you to join "webcam" sites, where they ask for your credit card numbers to "verify your age." I started by deliberately matching with the fake profiles, then reporting them. However, that's not enough. When I discovered the art of scambaiting, I thought that would be a fun and helpful "hobby" to begin.

Since I am new to this, and have seldom encountered the infamous 419 emails, I would like some assistance in getting them to contact me (on a fake email account I set up for this purpose). Please let me know a great way to get them to contact that email.

Thanks, and good luck scamming the scammers.

Hello and welcome to Eater!
First of all, reporting fake profiles in Tinder is OK, but if you get to the person behind them, don't talk to them if you're using your real data. It's criminals we're talking about here, and you wouldn't give your personal information to your local mugger, right?
Then, my suggestion is to use the surplus section here in Eater, this way you can check that they are really scammers and what script they are using. When you have a few baits down your belt you can start thinking about mass mailing and so on.
Anyway, I'd tell you to go through Eater University and have a look at the different tutorials there. Most of the basics are there, and you'll really have an idea of what the sport is about behind the flashy baits you can see posted (I'd say that 80% goes unpublished, and not for that reason is less harmful to lads). Then, if you're still interested, you can apply for a mentor, an experienced baiter that will give a hand on your first steps. However, as a mentor myself, I'd tell you to look through eater uni, read the stickies on the different subforums before you do so. We can really help you better when you know a bit of how things work.
Good luck baiting!

Hi and Welcome!

Turut gives good advice. Surplus is a good place to start. A fake email address and a fake character that shares no information with your RL details is mandatory. If you take a look at our sister site, ScamWarners, there are plenty of scripts and scammers available.

Bait safe and have fun!

Thanks y'all! They started filling up my fake email's spam folder faster than you can say "advanced fee fraud" haha.

I'll share details if something worthwhile comes up.
