Question on proof of safari

I've got one nearly convinced to come and visit and I wanted some clarification on the proof needed. I've got an original IP in Benin and will be getting him to take a photo as proof that he's at the airport before I pick him up.

Does the photo suffice of it can be shown that he's where he says he is?

if you find something in the background, that you can identify, why not.

the front of an airport, or some points of interest in a city... Smile

The international terminal signage is an obvious spot and he'll be doing or holding something to prove he's there. I'm still skeptical but he's certain there's $2M USD for him if he shows.

He's already created many pigs and a sand timer but I'd love to add a helmet!

Lads sometimes use accomplices so you may need 2 pics 1 in Benin and 1 at your safari destination to prove it is the same lad. Sad

Good point, I'll see if I can get him in the outgoing terminal as well.

I've already gotten him to drive a few hundred miles but can't prove it. He sure was pissed that I didn't wait for him.

if you don't trust him, you can always pretend that you've met him.

tell the original lad, that you've met him, describe him according to the pic, and most importantly: you handed the money over to him.

if he had sent a friend or even remote contact, that would be a hell of a dollarchop. the lad at home will explode in that situation. (too bad that there is no webcam looking over lagos, because that explosion would be very visible).

Also, if you've talked with him on the phone and have recordings of phone calls with the same voice but two numbers that are sufficiently far apart, that can prove a safari.

Lots of ways to do this, Lou. A change in IP to the expected destination is always great. Or, if you've been talking to him on the phone, require that he buy a SIM card at his destination. Pics at local landmarks are good. Again, if you're on the phone, have him hand it to a taxi driver or other local and get a description.

I don't do phone but I do have his beginning IP address. My current plan is to have him contact me via one of the computer kiosks at the airport as I know they have such things.

The first big trip I sent him on included photos of the hotel lobby where I "missed him". They were obviously legit but I couldn't get solid proof it was him that took 'em. I'm quite certain of it (he was REALLY pissed) but I couldn't make it stand up in court!

I had my safari confirmed with selfies. The lad had to take several selfies at well known landmarks.

Yeah, I've got a great selfie spot at his destination. The challenge will be to get him to prove he's the same guy that left Benin.

Of course, there's also a geography thing here. Unless he know someone who lives in Fiji (that's a stretch...), anybody who shows up would have already gone way past the minimum safari length!

Yeah, I know. It's halfway around the world. I'm amazed he's still talking about it but he's looking at it as a move away from Benin, asks about investing (the big cash that's waiting for him), how to get a visa, and continues to spend hours and hours on how to make the trip work. At the very least he's apparently abandoned a significant percentage of his scamming time in favor of this project, which is nuts.

I first "arrived" in Fiji months ago and he's been researching and yapping about the trip ever since. Who knows?

He's at least a candidate for a 2-fer sand timer and that's always a beautiful thing.
