Some of the guest books I have posted to I used a message along the lines of "Love the site! Unfortunately I am looking for a way to make some quick money to cover expenses for my late wife's funeral." I went that rout to give the effect that I am an older man that is desperate.I am curious If anyone thinks that kind of message is too unethical to post, even though I'm trying to bait scummy people. Any opinions are appreciated!

I don't see anything unethical about it, but you might end up getting people mailing you with dodgy get rich quick schemes that aren't baitable.

IMO, you shouldn't post stuff like this if you're anywhere other than Mugu Guestbook. "Real" spam is enough of a problem already.
