I've been baiting Banking More for some three months and gotten five piggies. For the latest one, he sent me a scan of a sheet of paper in which most of the info was printed by the Nigerian bank and the name and account number were written by hand. It involves a correspondent bank in the US. Then he typed the info in an email with some missing.

The routing number belongs to the correspondent bank. A. sent the money one night, then got a reply the next day that the bank codes don't match.

The lad will obviously need to write a formal letter for you to give to your bank to explain his mistake, so that they can approach the Deutsche bank and ask their client to return the money. I'd imagine that Herr Gomer will be please with his unexpected payday and unwilling to return it.

And since it is the Deutsche Bank, the lad might send his request in german. just to be sure that the bank understands the problem.

Of course, vonxlus character doesn't speak german either, so they need somebody else who can. And this person demands a share of the deal. Of course, the lad can't send money, that would be cash-baiting, but depending of the required effort, that german guy could keep a fair share of the wrongly sent money. And with every form and every phone call, laddys share melts like a snowball in lagos. Needless to say, that there are forms in english and german for the lad to fill out.

At the end, the whole amount of money melted away, and the lad gets nothing.

It's Deutsche Bank Trust, in the USA, not the original Deutsche Bank, whose SWIFT code is DEUTDEFF.

I'm thinking that A. asks her bank and is told that, to reverse a payment, she has to get More to fill out a form explaining why the money arrived in someone else's account (who hasn't noticed), one possibility of which is that More gave the wrong account number. What are some other possibilities?

Maybe you could invent another character, the person who "owns" that bank account. You could tell the lad that you have to write to the person to explain the mistake and ask him to return it.
You could cc the lad in on your email.

Then the new character could reply to you (cc'ing the lad) saying that he's keeping the money thanks very much because he's in debt.

Lads believe that transferring money always involves slips of paper and signatures, so why not this lol. Smile

Or the insanely jealous wife of the account owner could get involved, wanting to know which lowlife hussy is sending money to the wife/husband, and then erupts in greater fury at the Lad for giving her man Teh Gay...
