Nose pressed to the door glass, Mr Bomba stared out at the dust road stretching ahead. Mr Geoffrey's Hotel was nowhere in sight. What was supposed to be for him a fantastic scam was turning into misery. He could not understand it. Why had this wealthy hotel owner got him to travel all the way from Abidjan, across the Ghana border and east to Accra? Last night, he had slept on the floor of his broda Alex' home in Accra. Alex didn't mind that at all. What he did mind was driving his friend Bomba for hours around the Heavy Industrial District in the nearby port city of Tema. It was hot, dry, and Alex' engine was filling with dust. The money his 419 pal had promised him seemed to be evaporating, along with his patience...

ITINERARY:

Saturday:
Saturday. Mr Bomba leaves Abidjan by road.
Saturday night. After 10 uncomfortable hours travelling, Mr Bomba arrives at Alex' home in Accra.
Sunday afternoon. Lads drive from Accra to Tema and spend much of the next 6 hours driving around the desolate heavy industrial district, back to Accra and then return to Tema, in a desperate search for the hotel.

Well, this time the lad was sooo disconsolate and sooo displeased, we were never given the chance to clear up the confusion, remove any misunderstandings and put things right. Granted, S-Hotel Accra (Tema branch) is located in a somewhat unusual district, and yes, the area with its heavy industry facilities looks like the last place on Earth anyone might run a hotel, and yes, the air is polluted with suffocating thick red dust, a by-product from the intense output of the major chemical plants that line the streets; ... still, this was not a sufficient reason to become suspicious or even abort a major win-win gold transaction worth five figures which had been organised with so much attention to detail! If only Mr Bomba had listened to us, if only he hadn't wavered in his belief, a solid foundation for a fruitful business relationship could have been laid.

I especially like that the lad was so angry that he would not even let Mr B explain that he was there to "help". If you're planning a follow up adventure for this lad, you can plausibly claim it was his fault he didn't find the hotel, for not listening to Mr B.

All he had to do was tell Babangoh where to be picked up from and it would all have gone ahead as planned. A few nights at a high class hotel, warm meals, imported beers and a hefty down payment for 5kgs of non-existent gold from these stupid mugus. But alas...

As far as I'm concerned, it was by his own ignorance and shitty attitude that he missed out on this one.
