Has anyone been to Fiji? Looking for a landmark for safari

So my lad is going to travel to Fiji (I doubt it but he sure is wasting a lot of time talking about it). He'd be landing at Nadi International and then meeting me at the harbor to go to the resort I own and get some big money.

He's going to be checking in using a computer at the airport and I need something that I can ask him to identify that he simply could not do if he wasn't really there. Sadly he doesn't have a phone.

I'm hoping the IP will cover it but I'd love to have a plan B. Any help out there?

And yeah, he's my favorite lad EVER.

Thanks but I'm going to need something at or really close to the airport as he's going directly from there to the boat.

Tomizone is the internet provider at the airport and he's using yeah.net for email so I see the cafe IP in Benin as well as the Hong Kong server IP in the header in all his messages. Maybe the IP in Fiji would be visible as well?

If I could get him to fly to Fiji and buy a seat on the boat (which I will conveniently miss) I would do a happy dance of epic proportions.

hmm, just an idea, it involves ITPs.

call the hotels close to the airport (capricorn international hotel and others) and ask them which hotel offers wireless lan and that you are meeting with "lads name", but your plane is delayed an he should call you right from the front desk (give them a number to call, where you can be reached on the plane).

that might be involving ITPs, and even harming them monetary, but it's just an international call. and there is a good chance that he consumes anything.

if he thinks that the hotel would put everything on a bill under your name, and you don't show up, he has to pay everything, otherwise they'll call the police.

rock solid proof of having a lad in fiji

possibly an arrest for not paying the bill.

I'm working on the selfie angle but haven't confirmed that he'll have a phone to take one. I "bought" him one that he'll be picking up.

I'm hoping the IP address is a winner but I'll see how it all shakes out.

At least you will know when his flight is going to arrive. Arrival times can vary hugely from the ticket time

but be aware that those rules exist for a reason. bringing the wrong things to fiji could severely damage the environment.

Not sure if I can get him that far into the marina but he'll be going there to catch a boat, so that might be helpful!

if he wants to go to fiji, he can manage a short trip away from the airport too.

he might hate it, but he went that far, he can go a short extra trip.

by the way, another perfect way of confirming a safari: get him to buy a simcard over there, and get him to call you. look up the plans of the local phone providers. they sometimes have good plans for usa and a few other countries. if your number is from a smaller country, he might pay insane fees...
