Has anyone else encountered this? I will send replies back to emails in my catcher account but recently, I have been getting many negative responses back, such as the following: "Take my name off your goddamn scam list, you crook! I'm not going to bite!" after I have sent the standard "Received your email, how can I help?" message.
I don't understand why this would be happening and it seems to be very common, recently. Am I the only one receiving these? |

Is it possible that the lad is sending emails from a hijacked email account (as in one belonging to an ITP)? Does the text of the email tell you to write back to a different email addy? |

This is definitely not the typical response from a scammer, it looks like you have accidentally sent messages to people not involved.
Are you sending messages by "reply to all"? Occasionally a scammer will accidentally include potential victims in the cc: field. If you "reply-all" in such cases it will go to everyone, not just the scammer - and will produce reactions like the ones you report. If they're all replies to the same message this is likely to be the case. |

I've also seen where the lad has a different address that he wants you to reply to, often in the signature section. If they don't set it up as the reply address then your reply will indeed go to the wrong person.
Perish the thought that a lad would be stupid enough to get it wrong. |

Makes me wonder how many times the Scammers get that response and if they have a work-around for it. |
