So I created a new account and character for a bait I'm working and I'm already popular. I find this absolutely amazing.

- I created the account on 8/21
- I have used it to bait ONE lad. Lots of correspondence, but only to the single email address.
- I just got a 419 spam from an unrelated address.

Now THAT was quick. I wonder how that worked?

Your lad probably passed your email address onto his Oga (Boss) who then told another lad to try his format with you, either that or your lad is double dipping and thinks you are good to pay twice....

That's the part that makes so little sense, this character isn't paying anything. He's working as the guy's "partner" to try and screw someone else and is completely familiar with the 419 game. I can see a lad taking a second shot at a victim, but not another scammer.

Weird.

Sometimes lads sell lists of paying victims to other lads. Naturally, since there is no honor among thieves, they don't only sell the emails of people who have paid, but anyone who responds to them at all. That's often how baiters get their email addresses circulated around in ladland, even if the character is a "co-conspirator".

I rarely have to go looking for lads these days, they come to me. My main baiting account is good for at least one format in my spam every week.

Makes sense.

My Lou address gets around 250/month, all lad-mail. The Carling one gets around 175. Nice to have friends to play with whenever I want.
