Hello, I am have just starting scam baiting. I am also waiting for a mentor.

Also, I have just started a scam bait. Should I post it under the main forum, or under the help and hints, since I think I will need some hints?

Been lurking around here for a while and just registered.

Having a Gmail account that I no longer use, I sometimes check the junk folder for amusement. A couple of 419 emails appear every week and I'm tempted to try baiting some of the lads. I've learned a lot from various threads and I'm truly amazed by the guys and gals behind the Pastor Om4r TWAT safari bait Very Happy

Being an IT professional, I know "everything" about security and covering my tracks when dealing with lads. Looking forward to trying my first bait soon Smile

Welcome BassLekky! What I would do is set up another gmail account and reply to the emails from a new one. Just to be safe.

There's a lot of helpful information for creative baits in the Eater University Thread, too. Make sure to read the stickies and mentors are always helpful to!

I won't reply from that Gmail, it'll just be catching. I'll use another so-far-unused Gmail account or some other Gmail/Outlook for replying, using some funny name - and, to be on the safe side, use a VPN service.
I use my own domain and mail server for my current email, but won't use accounts on that one for baiting due to risk of DDoS or hacking attempts.

Hi everyone, great to see what's going on here... I've been winding up scammers for a while now and it's great to see somewhere where I can learn a few tricks! I've found a dating site called amoory,com that is full of 'Ghanaian' scammers... I've been stringing along a couple for days now... check it out.... P.S. I mean nothing against the site although it could be set up for scamming purposes, but if it isn't then I mean the site no harm

Greetings!

I've been lurking long enough, and have decided to set up a manageable baiting operation. Got my email addresses, am having trouble finding more than a couple of guestbooks to sign but I have joined the transit service so hope that yields some leads to get me started.

This is a great site with a cracking outlook and I'm amazed at what some of you have achieved!

I'm going to do a couple straight baits to get my eye in, and wondered if it was appropriate to just pick up a lad from the surplus letters board and crack on?

Thanks for that OrangeCat - I've got a pair of lads already from the surplus section. One lad is asking for my telephone number right off the bat. I'm going to have to break it to him that I'm deaf, I guess. I'm going to sign up for a mentor tonight. This is going to be a great outlet for my twisted sense of humour. Can't believe I haven't done it sooner.

Welcome aboard newser, sounds like you have the right idea to start, have a good time baiting, it's a great hobby/sport for creative thinking, no bait is ever the same, and you always get thrown something new, it's a lot of fun, but never ever forget who your dealing with.

You can get a K7 phone number to give to your Lads in the future. They are a great way to get around the Laddies need for a phone number:

I would pursue some contact, but as I'm new I'm probably not going to have long correspondence with them, just wasting their time.

If you're using your real email to correspond with them, stop. That is not safe to do. Any emails you receive you can post on the surplus thread, but they would be more helpful posting them at our sister site, Scamwarners.com

Hi folks. First post but I've been lurking this forum for probably quite literally years, thoroughly enjoying all the baits and wondering if I'd ever be brave enough to join in - my worry is that half the time I can't even remember to reply to friends' emails, never mind lads'! This was sort of planned to be my "hey guys, think I'm gonna join in!" post - I even have a character in mind; actually, being a longtime RPer, I have a cast of dozens I could edit for baiting purposes - but the discussion of DDoS upthread worried me a bit too - how safe is it to use a disposable gmail address really? I know they (used to?) strip the IP info but still makes me a little concerned.

(ETA: 2008?!!? I didn't realise it had been that many years!!)
