Got a mail form this scammer telling me i inherited a lot of money do to my last name (the 4th most common in denmark) He wrights in danish (google translate) I normally just delete them, but if someone wants to play with this man he is up for gabs.

Hvordan har du og din familie? Jeg ved, at dette budskab vil komme til
dig som en overraskelse, jeg Barr. Bethel Agoha en hovedstol advokat
til sent Eng. Name redacted-Capone (Min klient) fra dit land, som var en
direktør for Orient byggefirma her i Benin Republik, før han døde af
leukæmi på 3rd af marts 2010 Benin Medical Center. I denne hilsen
ønsker jeg at meddele Dem, at banken har udstedt mig en meddelelse for
at give de pårørende af hans konto, som snart vil blive konfiskeret.

Da jeg har fået medhold i at lokalisere de pårørende til min afdøde
klient i fire år, nu jeg søger dit samtykke til at præsentere dig som
pårørende af den afdøde, da du har samme efternavn, så udbyttet af
denne konto, værdsat af Seks millioner Otte hundrede tusinde dollars
($ 6,8 mio dollars) vil blive udbetalt til dig for os at dele i
forholdet 50% for mig og 50% til dig. Til din information vil jeg

Hi TheSandpit,

Welcome to Eater! Most members here speak and read English so a Danish posting is kind of problematic unless TheDane is around. In addition, I would ask you to post a header IF the scammer isn't using gmail. You should remove your own information, like your email address from the header.

Finally, if we can verify this is a scam email. it might be a good idea to post the scammer's email address.

Read the Stickies and feel free to stay a while.

Thanks for your reply, the name and email in the header is the scammers. I got it on my hotmail. The name in the email is one of my sur names that I share with 216006 others in Denmark.
I am sure he will prefer to scam in English as his Danish isn't that good. I am sorry if I did not post it right!

I got the same mail a few weeks ago - yes I'm Danish too - tried to answer back in Danish only to get a 'please reply in English'. I insisted that I didn't speak any other language - who need any thing else than Danish Very Happy

- so he tried scamming me using Google translate it only lasted a few days until he dropped me.

Quite fun as long as it lasted, might try him using a different mail.

I will not do anymore then. I would love to do some scamming myself, but live in a part of the world where they monitor everything!! And is afraid to break the law.

Have a look at our forum rules and guidelines. We do not promote, nor condone illegal activities here. We might tell a little fib here and, well, everywhere, but well, isn't the scammer doing the same? We're not trying to steal their money, though.

@bware419ers I have read them, And I totally agree, but living in a country where you can get fined and deported for using swearing words on you private Facebook page I don't want to take the chance.

^ There's a few Danish members and I don't think they've had any trouble with the authorities. Any LEO's would consided this, which is illegal? Asking a sweaty scammer to hold up a sign saying 'I can't believe its not butter' or actually scamming? Trust me its not illegal.

@father moleman, i don't live in Denmark, the law is shariah, and a new rule regarding respect for all people just came out. I totally agree it should be legal and they have it coming, but I can't take the risk as it is now.

Keep your head down (I would be doing much the same in that country or any like it as well)! I would suggest a VPN as well.
