Hello all,
First, I'll apologize for not revealing myself as the author of a book I put up here a few days earlier... Um, alright that's out of the way.

Now I don't know how I can be of help but I feel like you can learn from my wealth of knowledge somehow. I have been living among scammers ever since that scourge came upon this country and have acquired much about how they operate-- so what does this make me? (Traitor, jealous snitch,etc) Those boys do know how to make it rain, if you know what I mean.( Hmm, maybe I truly am jealous for not been able to wake and party like a rap star every day). Anyways, there are other not so palatable names lads would call me(In the native language)

But who cares? I am doing this for my country. Scammers only make up less than 1 percent of the population but their notorious activities has ended up affecting lots of law abiding citizens of Nigeria. Almost every country we go too now, we have to listen to someone whine about how Nigerians get fat on stolen money all the time.(Nigerian ministers truly are fat and steal money though--the swines). But gosh all those stories are like a broken record! And I'm getting angry! And I can see a little green already.(Not 'green' dollars... Talking about 'green' Hulk, you suspicious judgmental fuck)

So how can I help? Let's see...

1. Would you like to track a scammer out here (I live in Nigeria remember) we may actually be able to get some goats arrested.

2. I could teach you pidgin and Yoruba

3. I could help you out with scammer lingo

4.And other things I can't remember right now.

I know you may not instantly feel comfortable with me but a quick google about me will lay your mind to rest.

I'm still curious as to why you feel that you come to Eater and provide so much "insight" into the scamming world.

Because after I spoke with him via PM regarding his book, country, and culture, I asked him to look around this site and see what Eater is truly about. It is always nice to have additional resources. My Yoruba sucks. I still am not convinced as many scammers are in cafes as in the past. I want to know the hot clubs to visit, the areas where road stops are the highest, etc.

S3gun got off to a bad start in his first post and could have adjusted some of his post above. How about we give him an hour before driving him away, huh?

@bware The internet cafe scammer is nowadays a rare breed.But actualy this is good in the long run.

OP Stated he is basicly born and raised around scammers but is not a scammer himself.That's why he speak Pidgin and Yoruba.Fact is that many people around the world think about Nigeria and scam in the same sentence. Nigeria is so much more.This would make me angry as well iff it was my country.You have to be Nigerian to feel emotions like this.

Not "judgmental". Just paranoid as hell. This could very well be lads trying to do to eater what is being done in the "re-education" bait in this very forum. But, if the dude is legit, he would be a valuable asset.

So welcome to eater s3gun! As long as you are legit, we can definitely make good use of your expertise.

I'd feel exactly the same way if I were a Nigerian to be honest. A tiny percentage of scum fucking over everyone else and making every single other honest, hard working Nigerian citizen to be seem to be complicit in scamming to the outside world, I know its driving away foreign investors who fear that all Nigerian businessmen are going to scam them, its a travesty and a disgrace the effect that less than 0.0000000001% can have on everyone else.

welcome to the forum, and since I have absolutely no clue about which book you are talking (apparently that thread got removed somewhere), give me a small hint (here or pm).

and scam fighting nigerians are always welcome, as they can provide vital information about the situation in nigeria, which we can't usually find on the internet (even digging in nairaland and co doesn't always help).

Welcome aboard. As Robert Heinrich d.1 said, we're always eager to get some "insider information" on what things are like on the ground in Nigeria. However, by nature of what we do, we're also a pretty cynical bunch of people and tend to be suspicious when someone offers us something for free.

That said (and freely admitting that I am one of the more paranoid/cynical members of the board), you have made a number of claims, received several questions, and failed to publicly address any of them. We would certainly appreciate your help but you are going to keep getting this kind of resistance until you tell us a bit more about yourself and how you came about this knowledge.

As what Bware was saying above, I'm always curious about scammer lifestyle, if there is such thing (I play a fake scammer a lot, and, although no lad has called my bluff, I feel I could get better). So if you want to be of help you could start with:

1. Do scammers still mainly use cybercafes or is computer ownership more common?
2. How easy would it be for someone to retrieve money from Western Union or Money Gram using a fake name or simply no ID card.
3. What are the trendy areas in Lagos (And similar cities too)? Where would a lad with his pockets full of money go to spend the night? Similarly, where are the true shitholes?
4. Any other info on lad culture: some newer words in pidgin, what marks a successful scammer (or what would someone do to look like one)...
