I'm building a linked in profile for Bishop Robert D^wngh. ^=a. Sounds like Dong.

So, i am making this sterling charactered man of god a linked in account just for fleshing out the character, and probably will be a good source of addys to bait.

If anyone has characters that have linked in accounts, or a few minutes to create one, please do, and link to my character R0bert Dawng(+h)

I've noticed they are getting more clever at spotting "j0kers". Please don't use "easy" baiter names, (I changed the Bishop's name from Lawngh to Robert) and if you have a character that is infamous for hostile actions carried out successfully, please don't join them up. For example, Mr G0mer probably shouldn't know the bishop. But the TWAT church probably should.

I know I shouldn't have to say this but i will--don't use your real linked in account, please.

graverobber, it's an interesting idea, but I'm going to chime in about why I'm not going to do this. Sometimes I will get notices about LinkedIn, and forget that the site sends an alert for each "view". If you forget to log off your RL account, that's what will show up in the views for the lad, which means suddenly he has your name and work information. And because of my RL work, I prefer not to remain anonymous in my views on LI - I've just trained myself to be cautious. I simply don't ever click LI links.

The worst mistake I made was clicking a link for my ex-husband's wife's account when her name came up in a search (don't judge me; I have my reasons) and of course the next day I received a reciprocal "view" from someone who probably didn't know until then that I had a LI account.

I want that to remain the worst mistake I've ever made on LI. Rolling Eyes

I would hate to have anyone accidentally reveal a RL name to a lad, or even to other baiters - we need to remain somewhat anonymous here for safety's sake.

Open to other opinions, of course, but I see that arena as very problematic unless you use a completely separate computer for baiting. (Which, probably, I should...)

^^^ That is a concern that I have Kitty as I have a warning profile on LinkedIn as well as my RL one.

My solution is to use Chrome's Incognito mode or Firefox's Private mode (whatever Microsoft's piece of crap calls the same feature will work as well if you're a masochist Smile

) for all my baiting, so that I am forced to log in every time.

take a look at the firefox-plugin multifox.

it allows you to seperate several different characters/identities.

for example I have one for my own, one for other stuff including baiting and one for links I get from friends on several IM-systems (mostly NSFW-things).

this way, you can use the same browser, but have different windows, and each of them behaves like a seperate browser with all you favorite plugins. you can have different gmail-accounts in each session, and it should work with linkedin too.

(I'd suggest to use the beta-version, as this has the feature to keep browser-windows apart, instead of different profiles for each tab).

Yeah, wasn't aware of the reveal you talked about. Now I'm a little scared to do it myself.

I find I have to use "human engineering" to keep myself from screwing up.

Like, don't have anything available that can mess you up bad with one click, because you know damn well that click is gonna happen someday.
