100k for site killers!

Hey, we are very close now to having the AA419 database of fraudulent websites reach #100,000! About 18 to go as of this writing. Very Happy

Now this does not mean 100,000 sites have been killed. Rather, it means approximately 100,000 fake sites will have been entered into the database since its inception. For technical reasons, some of these sites (1,300) have been deleted from the database, but in any event having the AA419 database reach 100,000 is a significant milestone.

Keep an eye on this thread and the Fake Sites Forum. I think we will "turn over" sometime tomorrow (Thursday).

I'd like to express my thanks and admiration for Artemis. He has maintained the database for years and is primarily responsible for Eater's and AA419's site killing success. No person on Earth has killed more fraudulent websites than Arte. By locating, identifying and/or DB'ing fraudulent websites, Arte has been involved in the death of literally tens of thousands of fraudulent sites.

It's a lovely thing to celebrate! Congrats to all - not just the site killers here, or our wonderful and devoted Artemis - but also the baiters who uncover fake sites and post them for killing, the members who hunt down the sites, help research and help others learn about fake sites, and the members at aa419.org.

Kudos all around on this milestone.

Any congrats to the rest of the team and a big thanks to Artemis, ECB, music man and Nigel who we keep busy by finding these sites for the database, the whole team of site killers has helped me to find my place on Eater when I was lost. What's even more impressive is that out of those 100k entries only about 700 are still active.

I'm joining the party as entry 100,000 has just been saved.

I only had a small part to play in this enormous achievement. Many members played an equal role in finding and killing the domains.

It is also pleasing that many Governments have recognised this achievement by declaring tomorrow to be Workers Day. Smile

This is an excellent achievement, and it required countless hours of volunteer effort by dedicated site finders, DB keepers, and site killers. I am very honored to have played a small part in the latest quarter of the 100,000 sites, which represents enormous amounts of lad frustration, several thousands of victims saved, and millions of dollars kept in the legitimate economy.

Now then, let's celebrate in grand style by burning another 100,000 sites! Very Happy

Well done to everyone involved in hitting the 100k. Lets not forget that there's a hell of a lot of other sites that have been reported and killed that don't even get an entry in the db ( subdomains, .cc, .nu etc).

And none of this would have been possible with Artemis who is the glue that holds this thing together!!
