Firefox WTF???

I suddenly got a gazillion email alerts. Every single one of my baiting accounts got the same email:

I got the same notification. It's happened before but I don't think it lasted longer than a day. You can turn it off via the dashboard if you want.

ETA: All the Gmail boxes I checked are getting the notification so it's google

Okay, I'm confused. When I log out of one account and log into another I get the notification listing the previous box. That can't be right. I just received three notifications to the same box naming my other accounts

Try clearing the cache if you haven't already done so, it may work I'm not sure but either way its worth a try.

This one, that I discovered this morning, I can [kind of) understand, because it was triggered by an attempt I made 10 hours ago to link the account to Thunderbird. I just thought I'd give TB a try, but this a/c was refused. Bizarrely, it allowed another of my Gmail a/c's without any problem.

Interesting. I use Firefox (and others) and I have 4 gmail baiting accounts, not a single notification but I'm in the US - maybe it's a Google UK thing?

I use firefox across all my devices and gmail baiting accounts (in UK) and aj haven't had the problem, might just be me though.

I have two Gmail accounts open in Firefox, and I haven't seen any such notifications.

Google might be up to something / changing notifications. I never used to get these browser specific ones but lately I've been getting loads on my RL box. My own machine alerted yesterday because I used a new location but it was only four blocks from my house and I use my house network for that box. Meanwhile my baiting box alerts are acting pretty normal. Might be something theyre rolling out.

I got five more this afternoon. I suspect what is happening is that my X-notifier add-on is triggering a security alert when it checks for new mail. But it does that every 10 minutes, and I've only had the alerts 3 or 4 times, and not for every Gmail box.

My X-notifier has been doing this for a month now.

The warning shows my current IP.

Yes, not all gmail accounts.

I got an alert on one of my pcs after blowing away windows7 and installing linux on it, then updating a browser.. It mentioned changing from windows to linux. Pretty proactive "account security." Not so sure if I like it or not, but it might help noobies who like to click on links and get their accounts hekkled.

After almost a week with none, just now I got 21 of them, sometimes multiple emails to the same account. What a PITA to delete them so my notifier can work.

I use Chrome, now, for baiting. Gmail notifies me if I log in from a new IP, which I do often.

I'm not affected yet, but this looks like a worrying development. It's not that long since I switched to Firefox again after a couple of years on Chrome.

Basically, I want to know, has Firefox sold-out to Google, Or to anyone else? Or is this just a temporary glitch?

In which case, I'll need to look at Safari again maybe.

After several weeks of calm it has started up again. Seriously, WTF??? I had 15 notices yesterday. Tonight I had 6 more. Some accounts didn't get notices either night. Others got multiples. Both yahoo and gmail accounts are getting the same notices -- account accessed through Firefox.

It's random, bizarre, and annoying as hell.

We're getting them on all gmail accounts when sign in from new IP or cookies / cache is cleared. Been going on for a few weeks.

I've been getting these for about a fortnight logging onto my personal gmail. I have a desktop pc running Linux Mint, a knackered old notebook using ASUS OS and a Sony Vita using some Sony OS?? I get a notification asking if it's me when logging on from different devices or OS's. If I login using one device, then login from another, the same warning pops up. Mad

More annoying, is they've changed the login format to username and PW on separate pages. And that bloody advert page for the phone app that you get instead of going straight to signing in. Mad
