You get woken up from your slumber at 1am because of some small noise, can't get back to sleep so you stumble to the kitchen to make coffee and .... your freakin' coffee maker died!!! BAD omen for today, yessir!

If the house caught fire it'd be a toss up which I'd try and save (after the family, obviously) - the coffee machine or the dishwasher ...

Jeeze metamit I went through the same thing today kinda but as luck would have it the Coffee maker was working fine. Sadly the one who is supposed to make it dropped the ball and that simply will not do.

We will have words when she wakes up.

^^^^ Well the hubby did set the coffee maker up for auto brew last night so methinks he will be to blame for this dilemma LOL

I don't know what happened, I hit the button and nada. The heating element is not kicking on, but the light comes on like it's suppose to. Arrrgggg .... hand-brewing coffee is a PITA

It's going to be a long morning .... hopefully my kids will survive this

I ended up boiling my water in the tea pot and pouring it through the filter so I did get SOME coffee, but so not the same! And as if the day couldn't get any worse, stepped outside and it's snowing ... which means I will be trudging out in this crap just to buy a new coffee maker ... geesh! I just need to go back to bed and start my day all over again!

Yeah-no on the instant coffee LOL I boiled the water, ran it through the coffee filter into my carafe which was a PITA but hey, I got some coffee. Going to have to take time off and go buy a new coffee maker today because this is NOT going to be repeated tomorrow!!

Metamit, yesterday morning I tripped and my laptop drank my entire 20 oz cup of coffee. I was out coffee and a laptop. That day sucked!

Hey Metamit, just to be safe, you need to buy two coffee makers so that you will never repeat this type of day.

I have done that with everything. I have duplicates of every important aspect of my life. I just can't let my spouses know about each other! :yikes:

I am happy to report that metamit has replaced the coffee maker and had freshy brewed coffee, but to answer some of the questions:

My nearest Starbucks (or any coffee hut) is a 40 minute drive that I'm NOT making at one a.m. or any other time of day unless I happen to be going there anyway.

I will also be taking my other coffee maker to Sears for a replacement because I only had that coffee maker for 2 weeks and I now have OCD about my coffee maker breaking down at the worst time. I may ask them to pay for my therapy, too. Don't know yet.

But, when I get my replacement from Sears I will then have TWO coffee makers just in case .... my kids' lives will depend on that backup coffee maker I assure you Wink
