The IP remains Atlanta Lad's but the writing is unlike him. I have to suspect he is partnering with a new Lagos-based Lad since AL doesn't like Internet scams.

Kind of makes sense since we know I spoke to at least one other lad on the phone and we know he was using a call forwarding service. I can't wait to see how this pans out.

I love how the latest message implies a possible threat with a possible reward.
You MAY be in big legal trouble for funding terrorism...OR....you may be a victim entitled to millions in compensation.....simultaneously.

So "Interpool" is a US "WATCHDOG" group?

He imagines that with the proper authority he is in a position to both mostivate you to get what you have lost while at the same time make you afraid of bad consequences if you do not comply. Whenever it shows up, I sense an inexperienced lad. People do not respond well to mixed motivation coming from a single source. That's why the "good cop" and "bad cop" should never be the same cop.

Low-level recovery scammers often do not know how to deal with victims who insist they were not scammed. How he responds will be a good indicator how experienced he is.

On a different note, it would be fun to get the genuine AL back on a hook. Any chance Sue has heard about ink-stained bills that require cleaning to be returned into circulation? She might want to ask a trusted FBI agent about these deals, as she is thinking she might invest in such an operation if it turns out to be legit. Of course she would trust his word it is legit and would be happy for a recommendation for a dealer in the materials. The one she is communicating with seems a little bit intimidating.

@Lehigh Guy....you feel pretty convinced that these latest messages were not written by AL himself? Could it be possible that there's a concern that the victim might check the IP address so an accomplice had AL send them out so the IP address would track to the US?

I'm severely limited in my computer skills and knowledge but the IP address match does indicate that the messages were sent from AL's computer...right? Or by someone at his location?

It's amazing to me how much skill and experience it takes to bait so well. It's like watching an expert playing chess.

For the record, this is a bait that I've enjoyed following along with everyone else, but I've had nothing to do with it's wonderful execution. I'm being a bit of an "armchair" baiter here. The real chess players are Capone and Company.

I think the IP was confirmed as Atlanta Lad's, but his writing style and ability are not on par. Previously, AL revealed to the Fake Lad that he is strictly a "Wash-wash" scammer--he sells black construcion paper cut to the size of US currency and sells a washing machine / ink removal system so the victim can clean the bills and keep the money.

Of course I could be mistaken. This could be AL, but I doubt it.

On a side note, it has always seemd to me that the Wash-wash setup must be one heck of a hard sell. I'm always amazed that it not only works, but can be very, VERY profitable for lads.

Perhaps Atlanta Lad is training a "new" scammer? Atlanta Lad could have a son, nephew or taken an imported lad from Lagos under his wing. Maybe Atlanta Lad thinks that a recovery scam is an "easy" way to "train" a new scammer. Or Atlanta Lad has deviated from his usual wash-wash scam to branch out into a recovery scam, after all he does believe that Sue has paid tons of money over several years. Whether it is Atlanta Lad himself or someone else, this will be entertaining. Looking forward to Sue's emails!

My own thought is he either partnered with another Lagos Lad or someone else in the local community bought the name and script. AL's english is excellent.

@LG Wash-wash is a gutsy scam the lads preferable looking for people with black money drugdealers and other people that do have some cash that is tough to explain would the victim later fill in reports with LA most victims never will tough..The face to face work do have huge risks for the lads a risk they try to minimize with filtering the victims profile most desirable with face to face conversations and only keep the best potential canidates.I personaly know people that been scammed and iff they would have gotten even the slightest suspicion the lads planning to scam them it would be most probably ended very bad for those lads and the lads knew that as well.

The fact that the wash-wash is still around means victims fall for it the rewards are often high so it seems worth the risk for them.
