Here's one I got through back dooring the shipping company. I only had the shipping company address so sent them a note requesting a quote and got the usual "have you heard from my shipper yet" back form the impatient lad. Hopefully everyone here can help him off load some of his pork. He's currently trying to call me to hand some over:

The sheeper replied with a quote for one 40 kg box. The shipment is two boxes, though, so I doubled it and asked for confirmation.

ETA: Went out for four or five hours of errands. I came back and found another message from the sheeper. Four times he quoted $2.9k for shipping one box. Three times (two of his messages were in quick succession) I told him to fix it. He should jump at the chance to get $5.7k instead of half that, right?

The sheeper upped the quote, but it is still for "50 cm cube weighing 40 kg". It looks like he mistyped one digit in the shipping fee, rather than changed the calculation. Jean had already quit work when the quote arrived. Should I keep pointing out the error, tell the lad the sheeping is double the quote, or what?

While I'm sure he would love an extra couple of grand, he'll know that the higher the total, the more difficult it is to clear with the cards.

I'd go for what he's quoted. It's a made up figure anyway.

Finally got the sheeper to acknowledge two boxes; he quoted a fee a bit less than twice the original. I sent the total to the buyer, then went out for a bit over three hours (I told him I'd be out or minding the machines). He replied asking for the calculation in a certain format. I'll send him that in a bit. I have to salt the meat and eat dinner.

He finally wrote back asking for my phone number, which I responded with. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon (late morning my character's time), so I may have a bit of tight time getting a black pig in.

The appointment was postponed to today (the doctor was sick). Before I left, Jim called. I didn't know who he was; he said his name was Gene Kook, what it sounded like. I sent him an email and he confirmed it. He said he'd be telling me his credit card. I set a time limit; if he called before that I'd answer, else I'd leave. He called two or three minutes too late. I just got back and no card number. I wrote back asking where it is.
