I've never seen one of these scams before, how does this work? he offers to buy stuff off you guys with stolen cards?

^Hi squat, the lad never tells us that the cards are stolen - he acts as a genuine customer wanting to buy our products and wants us to use his shipper to ship the goods and to pay the shipper on his behalf via WU and charge the total amount to his credit cards. The scam works if the lad can get a WU payment made before the card payments get reversed.

He lives!!!

12/17 I told him it was against company policy to conduct transactions over the phone, that all business must be done via email. So I thought he was a goner for sure.

Got all tied up in the RL Holidays and wasn't even able to get near the computer until 01/01. Checked on dear Steven and -- what's this??? Inquiries from him 12/19, 12/23 and 12/29 -- wishing me happy Xmas holidays and was I going to be in the office to accept his credit card?

Well, well, well !!! Of course -- my family surprised me with a trip to Europe for the Holidays, dear Steven, but I'm home and completely available in my office for you right now. In fact, if I should go into the field tomorrow, I'll even have my laptop with me ... fire when ready!!! Twisted Evil

He sent me an order over a month after I sent him a pricelist. I'm at a conference, and my character will start work when I'm a few hours into a session. I may or may not have time during lunch to answer him.

/\/\/\ Sounds good to me, vx ... sheeper wants payment, but my character is out at the warehouse -- seems there's been a small fire in one of the stairwells and some product may have been damaged ...

He may not be able to respond to the lad or to the sheeper today, what with all that's going on and all ...

Got the freight quote from the sheeper and sent a proforma invoice to Smith (who also appears to be named Scott).

I haven't decided what to do with these. If you get the same card, post it. I was at the chiropractor's office and came back after J. would normally quit (he was doing something else this evening, which I'll explain to the lad). I'll process them in the morning.

This lad is innumerate or got orders mixed up. He told me to charge the cards equally and told me to charge an amount on the second one that is more than half the amount he has to pay.

/\/\/\ He's gonna need those again in a couple days or so, VX -- although Ziggy sent payment to the sheeper today, I have a feeling that those two cards I kept aside will be hit with reversal charges!

*1623 has been canceled and *5567 is over the limit (the limit is <= $3000).

ETA: Reported stolen. He was trying to split charges on one card, which is impossible. Then he told me to charge the whole remaining balance on the card. Hopefully he'll give me more than one card at once next time.
