He will need a lot of credit cards to fulfill a large transaction like that! Sounds like you got a chance to score a lot of black pork.

There is another thread regarding tours, in this area I think, go read there and see how people are dealing with the cards. Found the link for you:

People are declining for not enough funds, too many transaction, invalid number or just Contact Bank. Lot of reasons to decline cards, that means more ones 4 u!

I got sent a spreadsheet to track the cards on and it is awesome! It does all the math for me as I charge and charge back amounts. That way you don't overcharge the guy.

My advice is to keep the paid amount charged below the total as long as you can, that way you can never get to the sheeper stage because he owes you more still! If he gets within $1000 or so of being paid off (do this to keep him in it), say OOPS $9000 just got charged back, send more cards please!

Rinse and repeat as long as possible and watch the pork fly!

I am going to be starting the tour one tomorrow, so that is just some small advice as I am waiting and learning!

Good job killing the card! Did you report the first one? If so, get that piggy on your siggy!!!!

Since you are charging such a large amount, a good decline reason is insufficient funds. Not enough room on the card to charge all at once.

What you want to do is try and split the payments onto multiple cards, that way he is sending more than one at a time. Than you get into:

Card 1: Accepted $5000
Card 2: Declined
Card 3: Accepted $1000
Card 4: Declined
Card 5: Accepted $2000

Let cards 1,3 and 5 slide for a bit and when you are close to the $24,000 and the lad is smelling pay dirt you send this nugget:

So there is $8000 more to go before you can think about moving on. Keep doing this and either he is going to keep supplying numbers (which he probably pays for) or just give up! Either way, you have wasted tons of time and gave him tons of pain and anguish!!!!!! Twisted Evil

Good job declining him. After a bit of declining the entire thing, maybe suggest splitting the payment over a few to make it easier to get them through. That way you get multiple cards at once, and can make small payments on them and than have them charged back and start all over again.

That way it builds the excitement for the lad who sees they are getting oh so close to the total and payday and than all a sudden BAMMO they are not even close again!

Wash, rinse and repeat as desired!

With this bait going quiet for a few days I decided to send an email to the scammer's 'accountant':

My office manager was running credit cards at the end of the week and she reran your credit card. Instead of $17,000 she accidentally input $1,700 and the card accepted the transaction. You should see the transaction on your card next week.

I apologize but I was unaware of this until I read an email from her this morning. We are more than happy to call our credit card processing company and reverse the charge but await your direction.

Nothing for a few days here so I sent an email to the original buyer checking in.
