Just out of curiosity, I am wondering why lads do not use paypal? Is it because bank accounts and lads don't seem to go hand in hand, or is it because paypal has stricter rules?

Just wondering why they do not use this modality to recieve their paydays?

Because it's too easy for you to reverse charges.

We see it occasionally but a lad won't use his own PayPal account. It'll be a mule who then keeps a cut and sends the rest on via cash transfer. If you are asked to send money to a PayPal account then just report it to the nearest moderator and we'll handle it.

I had to verify my account with a number off my bank statement when I first signed up to Paypal. I had to wait more than a month for the statement so it takes a long time to set up, that could put them off as they want money as quickly as possible as well as the charge reversals which were already noted.

^^^ Not that long, generally. Many use online banking (rather than waiting for monthly paper statements) and can quickly see the 2 initial, small payments that PayPal makes for new account verification purposes.

In addition to the verification and ability to reverse already mentioned, paypal does not allow payments to Nigeria.

Until last year, they didn't allow accounts to Nigerians at all. They have changed it, but currently Nigerians can only make payments, not receive them.

Of course there are people who get around the policies, but it makes it much harder for your average low-level scammer to use the service for scamming.
