I'm attempting to send a lowlife on a Safari. The thief claims to be a "woman with cancers" with a boy she needs to give to me or something equally silly.

So far I have decided I am a very wealthy businessman. I will be on a flight to Accra, Ghana, on the 28th of December. I hope to lead this loser on a great trip! But he has asked for identification. I know that we're not supposed to post fake I.D. or someone else's I.D. or shopped I.D., but how will I still convince him I'm dumb enough to meet without giving ID? I've been lurking for a while and users like The Monseigneur and a few others lead them on merry jaunts, but how do I skip I.D. and still string him along?

Hi Major!

How much time have you invested in this lad? Convincing them to travel takes a lot of work and time. They have to believe in you 110%, and are generally well beyond the point of asking for I.D. if they are truly willing to travel across borders to meet you. My safaris have taken several months of baiting before I even bring up the idea of travel.

As for the I.D., I generally just ignore their request. They don't really care about it, and they can be redirected. If they persist, send them a corrupted file and blame it on them when it doesn't open. "I can see it just fine, it must be your computer."

Lots of ways. I like to ignore these requests, but if that is not possible send them an email saying "attached is the identification you requested" but attach nothing. Or you can take a large random file copy it as a jpeg, name it "identification" and send it to him. And by large I mean a large file that is not a jpeg. I think I once sent a lad some Starcraft maps that I had created and renamed. Just be sure and remember that it is always the fault of the lad if things don't work out.

If the lad can't open it, he should update his computer to accept images uploaded with Secure Internet 3.0.

You did your best but these new passports have a computer chip for scanning, and it interferes with the scanner.

Thanks a lot for your replies, guys! He seems willing to travel, but I'll need to talk to him more, this was just an initial idea. Thanks for giving me so many ideas! You've all been very helpful. I understand it is time consuming, but it is all worth it in the end. Smile

The best one I did was to pretend to be a ditzy blonde who was going to bring cash as she had to do a modelling trip and get away from an abusive admirer.

Then it's just a matter of booking the flight to the wrong place, like the Country Benin instead of the place in Nigeria, or the plane gets diverted, but don't make it too far too soon.

He has to smell the money and beware he doesn't use a contact he has at the destination.

ID for the scammer, hah, make sure he sends you ID so you can recognize him when you get there. You security is too important to compromise it before the transaction is even completed...
