This is a bit of a random question. Lately I've been getting trophy photos like crazy from this one lad. We are up to 4 different ones and counting. They all appear to be taken in his home in different rooms/areas. I've noticed things in the background such as people, nick-nacks, pictures, boxes, etc. I'm sure these are all images that he doesn't expect me to be focusing on. So my question is, has anyone ever garnered any interesting or useful information from the background of a photo that a lad produces? I was searching the background objects hoping to find something I could incorporate into the bait, but nothing seemed to be of much significance.

Always check the backgrounds. Wink

More often than not it's an irrelevance but just sometimes you can see something revealing. Also check the file's EXIF data for geotagging and other information.

What were the little keepsakes? anything that looked like a souvenir? perhaps something his wife/girlfriend had? could be an angle on that you could use.

A ladette who writes in French sent me some pictures, supposedly of herself. One of them also shows some papers posted on a wall or something. The writing on the papers is in Romanian.

Squat, here is the photo that I got which had me thinking about images in the background. I'm curious who the lady in the picture is. I think it is a lady at least.

Sort of hijacking my own thread here, but what is also interesting about the picture I posted is that this was the 1st of 4 trophy photos from the same lad. However, this 1st photo guy is different from the guy in the last 3 photos I've gotten. In the background of this 1st photo I see what I think to be at least 3 different lads in the background. I wonder if they are a gang, or friends, or family?

Definitely looks like a lady, it's an old photo, so it could be his mother, or a grandparent.

From what I've read about how these guys work it wouldn't be out of the question for them to all be family. It's also equally possible it's just a group of friends who scam together.

I am thinking they might be friends. In the last 3 photos from this same email lad, it's been a different guy from the first photo. I don't see much of a resemblance in appearance, but you never know.

Also, how disgusting is the place these lads appear to be living in? Is this normal for Nigerian living standards?

Unfortunately, the standard of living is extremely poor for the vast majority of Nigerians, and that is pretty realistic for a low level lad.

I like how they wired up the latch on that door, a door it looks like they borrowed from some sort of hotel or administrative building. Pretty heavy duty for an interior door.
